Number of entourage for dress shopping

Alexis, on August 22, 2018 at 1:45 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 28
Hi all,
I have had so many people already tell me that they want to come with me dress shopping. I have six bridesmaids. I obviously want my mom to be there. A family friend asked to be there. And then do I invite my FMIL to come? Looking at nine people being there with me. And I’ve heard that most stores don’t like big entourages.

Who came with you you dress shopping? Your mom? All of your bridesmaids? FMIL?

I brought my mom and a few of my bridesmaids. I think there were 5 people total. A lot of bridal shops have a limit on how many people you can bring though so I would call and ask.

My BM's came with me. I've read horror stories of too many people, too many opinions. Also the Bridal Shops don't like too many people. There usually isn't enough room.
Your mom should definitely come if she wants to.
You already have a large number..good luck!!
Maybe you can have just you and the attendants, then another time with Mom, or Mom and MIL...

I just brought my mom. We did FaceTime my sister while we were there but that was it. I didn't want too many opinions coming at me while I was trying on dresses.

I suggest four or five. Definitely leave anyone with a strong opinion that doesn't usually agree with yours out. There's no need for all or any of your BMs to be there.

I had my mom, my sister (maid of honor), and two bridesmaids and it felt like the perfect amount! Keep in mind you may have multiple days of dress shopping so you could always invite different people different times you go!

I brought four people: my mom, my FMIL, my FSIL, and my cousin. I think it was the perfect number of people. I never felt crowded, but I had enough help making a decision.

I only did 4. My mom, sister (moh), FMIL and FSIL. It was perfect. I would shy away from too many people because it can just confuse you. You want to make sure you love it and are not pressured into buying something they love but you dont.

I only had my mother come along with me since my Maid of Honor was in the hospital. I didn't want a whole entourage.

The dress shop I bought my dress at limited the amount of people you can bring. I brought my mom, sister (MOH) and grandmother with me. At appointments at other salons I brought my mom and all bridesmaids (3). I didn’t invite my FMIL because I wanted a special moment with my mom and I didn’t feel comfortable with asking her to be there as I don’t agree with most of her opinions. I’m glad I kept my number small when I found my dress. Too many opinions wouldn’t have been good for me.

I brought my mom and a single bridesmaid, but that's because that's who was able to go since all the other bridesmaids lived in a different city. Otherwise if I had my pick, it would be my mom and FMIL. I have 4 bridesmaids, so I'm not sure if I would have brought them all if I could, that would be overwhelming for me!

I had my MOH, my 2 bridesmaids and my dad.. I only had 4 people there! I didn’t want to many people. Especially my girls and my dad are very opinionated and I know they would tell me if something wasn’t right for me! I ended up finding the one! They loved my dress! SO with that being said, a lot of boutiques, and bridal shops don’t like a big crowd. Keep it small and simple

I personally don’t see why all of your bridesmaids need to go, but that’s just me. I didn’t want all the extra opinions so I didn’t ask my two BMs or either of my FMILs. I took my mom and MOH because those are the two opinions that matter most to me (my grandma couldn’t come but I asked her).

I had a total of 5 people with me. My mom, fmil, godmom, MOH and my male gay best friend.

Its was just just enough opinions without it being an overwhelming experience. I planned to do a cute reveal to my bridesmaids since they weren’t at the appointment.

I only had my bridesmaid, maid of honor & flower girl. I would’ve brought my mom & FMIL as well but wasn’t able to at the time. I have 7 bridesmaids & honestly wouldn’t have wanted them all there even if they could. The opinions would’ve overwhelmed me.

The bridal shop I went to had a max on the number of people you could bring.. I think it was 4 or 5. I brought my mom my aunt and my MOH and a BM.

I went solo. LOL This is my 2nd marriage and the first time was a headache because everyone had different opinion. Ev-er-y-one! This time, I made the appointment for just me and it was heavenly. I found my dress and it’s perfect and very ME and everything I hoped for. I will however invite a couple of my BFs and my future sister in law to the fitting. ❤️

I went twice. First time was just my mom and daughter (she's 2 and was not feeling it haha).
Second time my grandma, mom, both my sister's and their daughters came.
I'd recommend going during the week. It's less crowded.

First two stores I went to by myself to get comfy with the experience. Then I did a trip with my mom & sister. Then one with a friend & my mom. Then more shops by myself until I found it. I definitely liked a small entourage.
