NWR: almost swollen shut eye

FutureMrsGriffen, on August 14, 2016 at 10:17 AM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 13

Helllurrrrr. Last night I noticed a rather large swollen spot on my check, I said whatever - put some zit cream on it and went to bed. Well here I am the next morning and now my whole under eye is puffed and I can barely look down. Any clues what this could be?

See a doctor. It's near your eye, so I wouldn't risk it.

Definitely see a doctor. Could be an eye cold, stye, or some kind of reaction. Like JadedRaven said, I wouldn't risk it.

I'd definitely go get it looked at. It's near your eye, so I wouldn't risk not getting it checked out. FH had his eye swell up in February, which we just thought was allergies or a simple eye infection that would clear up soon. We were wrong and he ended up having surgery and staying in the ICU for 8 days. Not saying that this is what is going to happen to you, just sharing from experience.

Got to an ER or Urgent Care ASAP! It isn't worth risking things with your eye. You could take a benadryl and see if that helps the swelling go down. If you take it, be sure to tell whatever doc you see when you took the benadryl.

Put warm compresses on it to help the swelling go down.

Is there a small head to it? I almost think I see one....

It could be a sty or a zit under the skin. I would try the Benadryl and warm compresses. If it doesn't improve in a few hours I would definitely see a doc!

That almost looks like a spider bite, I'd go see a doctor!

Thats either a bug bite or maybe poison ivy (if you were near it).

See a doctor. You may need oral antibiotics.

Oh yeah if it's a spider bite it could get nasty. I withdraw my suggestion and say go see a Dr. ASAP. Spider bites are nothing to mess with says a Florida bride from home state of creepy recluse spiders!

My friend just spent 2 or 3 weekends driving back and forth to P-Burg- because her dad got bit by a spider- probably a brown recluse and was in and out of the hospital and had neurological symptoms.

he's fine now- but spider bites are no joke.

I was also thinking allergic reaction or spider bite. Definitely worth a trip to the ER.
