NWR: Belly Button Piercing

I am thinking about getting my belly button pierced. For those of you that have it pierced, did it hurt? Does the ring get annoying? Do you ever wear your ring? Does your FH/DH like it?

I am terrified of belly button rings... mainly because my dad threatened to pull it out if I ever got one.

    and he would...

I hate the scar that people get with them but other than that think a small one is fine, the dangly ones freak me out as well.

I've had mine pierced for a year. FH likes it a lot. It really didn't hurt that bad when I got it done, and it was super quick. It did swell and was super sore for the next few weeks, though. Especially if FH and I were fooling around.

I've never changed mine. I don't want to spend the money on a new ring lol. But I always have it in and it doesn't ever bother me.

As for the whole scarring when you remove it thing, I've already got a giant scar on my stomach from appendicitis, so I don't care if I get another little scar from it.

I got mine pierced at 16. It was never infected & I never had any problems. I don't remember it hurting that bad. It just depends on your pain tolerance.

The ONLY reason mine is gone is I had to have my gallbladder out in May and I couldn't wear it in surgery of course. I could barely touch the area around my belly button because of the incision and stitches for about 2 weeks. I tried to put it back in but I was afraid of breaking the skin myself. It looked so weird not having it. Sometimes I miss it . I had it so long.

I was thinking about getting mine done, but FH said he doesn't care for them. I am still considering it, though. Going to the gym tonight to work on my abs. They're in there somewhere.

When I took mine out after having it in for years the only thing was left with was a hole. It still looks like I could put a bar through it but it's closed. I wouldn't even really consider it a scar. I guess it depends in the body's healing process.

I got mine when I was 16...it didn't hurt that bad. But then again my feet tattoos didn't hurt either. lol I still have mine, it's just tiny. I followed all the rules and it has never been infected or anything. No swelling and no bruising.

Got it at 18...didn't hurt at all and I'm kind of a baby about pain. I researched a really reputable place before going. The only thing that stung was cleaning it after. I've only taken it out for a day or 2 in the last 10 years. I still love mine and FH does too. I figure it gives me a reason to try to stay in shape if nothing else lol.

Got mine done about 3 years ago on spring break (cliche I know). I love it, never had an issue with it and FH doesn't mind it. The only thing is you have to be careful with ones that dangle, they can get snagged pretty easily.

Plus it give you added motivation to do sit-ups so you can show it off haha.

I've had mine for about 12 years. About a month after I originally pierced it, it fell out while I slept so I had to have it repierced. They hurt a little but I was a waitress then and went right to work after both times. Mine has never been infected and I dont wear the dangly ones so I've never had any problems with mine gettting snagged or pulled on. I think my belly button looks sooooo weird without the piercing in now!

I got mine pierced when I was 18, my body rejected the piercing. I have super sensative skin! I took it out after a few months of trying to get it to heal. My scar was just tiny at first and then I got pregnant with my first daughter and it stayed the same then came the TWINS, now my scar is big and ugly especially considering I barely have any stretch marks from my twin pregnancy but that scar really stretched out.

I had mine done at age 16. It didn't hurt as bad as I thought. Sure, it stung a bit, but nothing horrible...and I have a low pain tolerance, so that says a lot. Mine healed really fast. I bought cleaning solution from my piercer and it worked great. You'll be just fine! Smiley smile

Not really I got it when I was a freshman in high school I almost fainted cuz I was scared. But compared to the tattoo on my foot its nothing you should get it, I love mine and you can always change the belly ring.

The initial needle pain will be over in mere seconds, but your discomfort will last a little longer. It will feel sore for a while afterward. That soreness may vary from a couple days to a week, depending on your pain tolerance and how strictly you stick to your aftercare instructions. I'm into my piercings as well and I make sure to take care of them. I also choose the jewelry I wear for my piercings. I've got some nice, good quality body jewelry from a wholesaler I found online, achadirect.com. They've got a wide variety to choose from at a good price although the minimum order is around 150$ or so.
