NWR: Best work out clothes?

I've had the hardest time finding an activewear brand that I like that doesn't cost over $100 for pants (ahem lululemon). I've had the hardest time finding an activewear brand that I like that doesn't cost over $100 for pants (ahem lululemon). My biggest issue tends to be finding a sports bra with good support (I'm a 34B, most bras for that size are thin and flimsy, I like my girls held in tight) and pants that fit in the waist yet arent stretched across my butt and thighs. Aside from Lululemon I have tried Danskin, Jockey, Champion, Victoria's Secret, as well as non-name brands I've found at Macy's, JCP, Target and etc.

Anyone have any suggestions or favorite brands they'd like to share? I'm tired of walking out of stores empty handed

I agree with all the Old Navy votes! I love their Dri-Fit line and I feel like they have sales regularly, so you can always buy gear at a bargain price. Being a petite but busty gal, their bras with the compression support help me a lot, but after reading this post, I'll be checking out the other girls' recommendations!

I used to be a loyal LuLu Lemon customer... but they've done something to the cut/fabric for their pants that just doesn't work for me anymore. Smiley sad

I have had good luck with...

Athleta. Just be aware that they can run a little small for pants so consider going up a size (to avoid the tush show problem). They also make the some of the best/most supportive maternity yoga pants I have found. And watch for sales. They happen frequently.

Lucy. Altho... they were purchased by VF Corporation (also makes &, Splendid, Jansport... etc) in 2007 and I've noticed that the quality of construction on some pieces has periodically suffered as a result.

For bras: I prefer a "battle bra" (something that holds the girls snug to the chest with a minimum of wiggle) as, even when the girls were a bit smaller, too much bounce was a very uncomfortable thing.

My favorite style actually became the kind that look more like a real bra -- with adjustable straps, underwire, and hooks in the back.

    Something like this...

Zella at Nordstrom Rack and Athleta are amazing. But they can both be pricey:/

Moving comfort has the best bras hands down. I am a DDD and I hate the girls not supported properly.

Moving comfort really keeps them in

Champion has compression sports bras at target ($12) they are awesome. They literally squish your boobs down, but not in an uncomfortable way, more in a wow this babies are bouncing at all when I run! They are also super cute. You need to make sure you check the tag and make sure it says compression though! I actually really like all of the work out clothes from Target. They are cute, durable, wick sweat away, and don't break the bank!

Here is the link to their activewear!

I wear nothing but NIKE! Do they have Nike outlet stores near you? I love in Portland Oregon so we have NIKE everywhere. I am a NIKE fiend but I only buy clothing/shoes on sale.

Nike! You can get a bunch of their sportswear for 30% of the price at Nike Outlets. I used to like American Eagle / Aerie spandex pants, but they seem to have replaced them with more cotton-y pants, which you definitely would sweat right through. Gross lol

And I know it hurts to pay $60 for a sports bra...but Lululemon's Tata Tamer is the BEST. EVER. I'm super paranoid about my boobs since having and nursing my daughter, and I don't want any movement whatsoever (and I do high intensity work outs). I've seen it on sale in weird patterns for $40, which is a steal. The straps and band are very adjustable, and this thing will not fall apart in the wash, either.

Lucy is my New Favorite for pants. they ALWAYS have something on sale.

Bounce (From title9) is great for bras and they rank them by how much support they give, i love that i always buy the bras the have 5 plus barbells and they work really great. I spend the money on a good bra, its not worth having the bounce.

The Nike Dri-Fit pants are awesome (especially for running), and there are usually Nike outlet shops at outlet malls.

I know you tried champion, but they have a sports bra I LOVE!! Its a pull over, a bit thicker, the double dry. Have you tried getting a size down? That's what helps me. I squish my 36cs into a 34b or c. It sucks, but keeps them in place!

I agree with everyone that said old navy. I work out 5-6 days a week so am constantly washing my clothes, and they hold up so well! The compression bras are really good. Also to get the clothes to last and not wear out, don't put anything with spandex or lycra in the dryer. I air dry all my pants/bras/dri fit shirts. You can always get sales on old navy. I'm also a fan of Nike especially for running.

I love Title9, but I've found a few really well fitting sports bras from Nike. Not sure what your workouts entail, but I'm a triathlete, and I get my kits, and seperates from Betty Designs.

I'm not near my sports clothes to check the brands right now but I get mine at Marshall's. They have great brand and off brand items, and I always find well padded bras (36B) and great shirts and sweaters. Model's is good also.

I am committed to Under Armor - the price is mid-high end range but the quality is excellent ( and cheaper than lululemon). Nike has great sports bras this season and Athleta for sweatpants!
