NWR: Body by Vi? ViSalus? Herbalife? Herbatea? Which one!

PhilSammie7302016, on February 19, 2016 at 2:23 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 20

I just started working out and got this protein shake from a friend. Ordered a small kit and was wondering if anyone has used it before. I haven't gotten it yet, I get it tuesday, but i'm looking for anyone's opinions, advice, testimonials. Thanks! Also my other cousin is using Herbalife so i guess both those products i'm wondering about

If you want to take a protein for working out, I can recommend one. I take a grass-fed whey if I take whey, and Vega Sport if I want vegan. PlantHead and Vega One are also awesome if you're looking for a dietart supplement, but I dont like them post-workout. And I take Gu Recovery after hard workouts. I wouldn't take Herbalife if it was the only option on the market, and I don't have any experience with that Vi brand. ETA: Vega tastes green. I don't mind it, but some people do.

A friend of mine had bought the herbalife and I tried it. It has a lot of caffeine in it and it made my blood pressure shoot up and I was violently ill. I was super jittery, nervous. It also made me lose some bowel control and I ended up crapping my pants. My experience=bad.

None of that. Make your own protein shakes with peanut butter/almond butter, fruit, spinach, vanilla. Seriously. Here is one that I love to make:

    1/2 apple

    2 scoops peanut butter

    1 c frozen cherries

    1c spinach

    1c kale

    almond milk

I am allergic to banana but, from what I hear, bananas are essential for a delish smoothie. Mine usually have yogurt or pb.

I took Herbalife for a short while, but it was so hard to choke down, the flavors alone were enough to convince me to quit taking it. And now that I read everyone's bad experiences, I'm glad I did. If you want protein, do some research on reputable brands and go from there, I'd say.

Thanks for all the help, i will make sure to stay away from herbalife. I did already order the ViSalus though. I've been making green smoothies on my own but I wanted to just kick it up a notch and my best friend takes protein shakes so I decided to look into this after 1 of my facebook friends put up a post about it. So sorry all you guys had such bad experiences with herbalife.

I used herbalife and lost weight pretty quickly, I'm doing it again now just to get a jumpstart. Honestly you could probably do the same thing with any shake, I just like these best and I have a list of "recipes" from the shake shop so I can make "cheese cake" and "blueberry muffin" and fun flavors, too boring otherwise. Not sure why people are saying it wasn't good, probably didn't have a rep give them the recipes. But remember, like any meal replacement - the weight will creep back on when you stop them.

I don't believe in any of these products. There is no miracle for health, and these products are out there because the weight-loss industry has big bucks to make.

    Simply:

    - Eat healthy food with lots of fresh vegetables and fruits, no processed foods/fast food etc.

    - Tracking of portions: myfitnesspal is free, but weight watchers is also a good program

    - Exercise. Focus on core strength, weights, some cardio, and don't forget to stretch.

    - Drink lots of sugar-free fluids

    - Sleep as much as you need to.

I tried ViSalus mainly because a friend was trying so hard to get started, I felt bad. The shakes taste fine, but there are many more cost effective options in stores that taste even better. I bought into the MLM stuff for a year or so. It is NOT what they make it out to be. You end up pushing products on your friends and family and usually just end up pissing them off.

Pintrest is full of recipes and waayyy cheaper :-)

Herbalife has a very bad reputation for a reason! They have a lot of "hidden" sugars and other chemicals that are awful for your body! I use Optimum Nutrition, it's only 120cal per serving and tastes great! Look into it (:

(I work in the athletics/fitness industry if that helps your decision!)

Body by Vi is such a scam and its not even that good for you. Don't get involved in that one for sure. It is so expensive and they push you to become a seller and host stupid parties that make people think this actually works.

Cut out processed foods, eat clean, exercise 3-4 times a week for at least half an hour and get sweaty! There is no magic pill or shake that will help you lose weight, and if you start drastically cutting calories you will just make yourself terribly sick. Those products all have terrible reputations within the fitness community because they are scams and can truly do some terrible damage to your system.

Good old fashioned food monitoring to get you into a calorie deficit- doesn't cost anything and no BS adds about 30 pounds in 30 days.

MFP and a calorie deficit. Free- and easy.

Herbalife made me so sick! Yuck! I was at a plateau for almost a year - I have only been eating meats, vegetables, healthy fats and fruit for the past month and I lost 10lbs AND have been eating over my calorie goal in MFP.
