NWR but endometriosis sucks.

Kim, on July 13, 2013 at 4:35 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 1 23

Anyone else feel my pain? (pun intended) I'm terrified I will not be able to make little cute babies because of it. Although my mom had it and she had 2 kids. Just thought I would share this thought because I was in crippling pain that brought to my knees today at work.

I don't have it but I had crippling cramps all through my late teens & early twenties. I used to take Vicodin & still be on the floor. I hope you feel better Smiley sad

Could you take birth control to skip your periods?

I don't have endometriosis, but in my teens and early 20s, I had debilitating cramps. Fortunately, they were like morning sickness. It was over by noon. Once I once in my 30s, they ended.

As far as having babies, a friend conceived (it took awhile) and now has 4 beautiful children.

I can't take birth control because I turn in to a crazy person. I scare myself I get so crazy lol. Plus even with the lowest dose of estrogen, I get migraines with auras (blurry vision) I'm just a mess haha. My mom had it and never knew it. Some months are better than others, but today... yikes.

My mom has endometriosis, when she was in her early 20's a quack doctor told her she would never have kids and should just get a hysterectomy ... low and behold, she didnt have the hysterectomy and had THREE girls. She does say its really painful though Smiley sad poor girl. I seen that you don't do well with birth control, maybe keep trying different kinds until one helps!

I haven't been on birth control for 10 years lol. I just don't like it. Thing with endo is, it is so common but so many women are effected by it differently. They say there is no direct link to endo and infertility, it just terrifies me because I had one miscarriage already. I'm getting in to my late twenties so I'm ready to start popping out some good looking offspring lol

You'll have little ones I'm sure of it, I'm sorry to hear about your miscarriageSmiley sad But they aren't that uncommon, so don't freak out and think you'll never have a baby! My fbil & his wife thought they couldnt have kids, spent literally thousands and thousands of dollars on ivf etc, once they stopped, 6 months later she was pregnant. God works in funny ways!

I don't have endometriosis but I used to have horrible horrible cramps, nauseous for like 3 days, would miss school sick because of my periods. almost every month. when I was 19, I went on birth control (which worked but also made me crazy and I was nauseous the first couple days back on active pills). Then my sister had a pulmonary embolism, so I had to go off the pill because of high risk of blood clots. I got an IUD put in (Mirena) and that works for me-- it's highly effective (more so than the pill) and I haven't had a period since December 2010. don't get cramps either, it's awesome. FH laughs at me because I tell him when we try to have kids, he better knock me up right away so I don't have to go through periods without the IUD again. maybe Mirena would work for you? or one of the shots or implants? I think people don't get periods with those either.

As much as I HATE my period, I do still like the fact that I get them if that makes sense. I feel like I get them for a reason and all BC scares me because I've had my own issues with it and I see all those recall commercials. Especially since I'm getting older, I'm scared it will hinder my abilities to get preggers. It's probably just the paranoid hypochondriac (I had to google that to know how to spell it correctly, lol) in me. haha

Kim K I have endometriosis and PCOS and I'm proud to tell you I have two wonderful girls. U was diagnosed at 15, had my first surgery at 17 been on the shot three times, had to use cloned and prometrium to get pregnant and hold my oldest who will be 4 next month. My 6 month old just popped up lol with no meds or assistance. I call her my angel. I just found out yesterday ill e getting surgery again in a few weeks because the endo is back and aggressive again. Aw that is wonderful Latrice! What kind are surgery is it? I wss told (at 15 as well) that since there is really no cure, the treatment really only helps with symptoms. I was so young I didn't think much of it and since my mom had it (with no active symptoms) I guess she figured it wasn't worth the trouble. But as I get older, I honestly feel that it gets more troublesome. I have to wait until I get health insurance next year to even acknowledge the problem (I lost my health insurance last year when the company I worked for went under. )

It's called a laparoscopy...look it up. I'm shocked your doc never suggested it. It's really the only way to effectively diagnose and treat endo. My first surgery eased my symptoms for about 2-3 years then I managed with birth control and diet. It's a quick surgery they go in through a small incision in your navel and you're good in like 3-4 days

Ugh. Kim, I'm in the same boat. Stage 4 endo, 100% blockage in right tube and right ovary is pretty much ruined. FH & I decided quite some time ago that we aren't going to have kids at all. Once we're married and I'm on his insurance, we're getting my girly parts ripped out. I've actually been participating in the Violet Petal study since October. You should ask your Dr about it. Endo is by far the worst thing. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. I've had 3 laps & 4 miscarriages.

@Latrice, that's horrible that you were laid off while on Maternity leave? Can they do that?

I was actually just reading up on it right before I read your post! That's awful they laid you off while you were pregnant. Thank you so much for your advice. I'm defiantly going to look more in to this. I was originally told that I had PID but I insisted that was not what it was because it is usually a result of an std and I, being 15, was a virgin so I felt that wasn't right. They treated me for it anyway. When I went back with the same symptoms, they said that is endo and there really isn't much they can do about it that don't involve incisions and it would be more trouble . Maybe I just had a really shitty doc but I went to my appointments alone and when I talked to my mom about it, she said "well I never did anything and I'm fine." like it was not a big deal. So I left it at that because any kind of procedure scared me. I did do some research on it but I guess my problem is, my lack of being informed on the subject from a very knowledgeable person. I feel like it is a disease cont
