NWR: Febreze and Dog Pee Smell

Been using Febreze fabric refresher for the last few days and it seems to have reversed what I wanted it to do. Been using Febreze fabric refresher for the last few days and it seems to have reversed what I wanted it to do. I've used it before, but I never put two and two together- that after I use it, I can smell the nasty odors again mixed with Febreze. I've been spraying the cushions, etc. so they smell nice for our dog sitter while she stays at our house during our wedding. But now everything smells like dog pee again (they peed on the back side of the couch when potty training months ago). Neither of them have peed in the house in months, so I know it's not a new smell. I have a candle lit right next to me because I'm just sick of smelling the ick. When they pee on the carpet, I use vinegar and baking soda, which gets it out pretty well, but it's not like I can vinegar the entire house...

Anyway, what works best for neutralizing odors for you guys? We need to replace the carpet, which I know is part of the problem, but I'm at a loss with what else to do to make the house smell nice.

Nature's miracle is he way to go for general odors

For spot cleaning, a mix of dawn (HAS to be dawn) water and vingar on the spot and then papertowels with heavy weight on top to soak up the stain REALLY gets deep down stains out.

My dog had very oily pee and it would stink like eggs (yiikes nowt thats a memory)..... IDK what dawn's made of but it works.

Thank you so much, ladies! I'm thinking I'll try soaking the back of the couch in Nature's Miracle and see what happens.

Had Nature's Miracle ever discolored any of your fabrics before?

They sell a spray meant for pet accidents that deodorized the smell pretty well! We use it for our cat!

(And the baby! Lol! Had a wicked diaper rash so we let him go free and he peed on the carpet!)

Can you use this Nature's Miracle stuff on carpets? Just spray it all over? My sister lived with us last summer, and her cats' pee destroyed the carpet in our guest room. I'm waiting to replace the carpet until we are close to selling this house (we have two dogs and we take foster animals, so I'm not about to spend money on new carpet!) but I'm sure our guests would prefer not to marinade in cat pee smell until then.

Natures Miracle (or other enzyme cleaner) will actually remove the odor, fabreeze just covers it, and since it re-wets the stain the pee smell will come out

    Ooh following.

Our pup had an accident for the first time in 10 months the other day. We used water and white vinegar, and it seemed to work ok, but I'd like to be sure.

*runs off to look up Nature's Miracle*
