NWR: got fired today and need cheering up!

I'm so, so sorry. You are a mortician, correct. I don't mean to be flip, but your career will always be in demand. Take these next days to concentrate on pampering yourself and getting ready for your wedding. This is my Mitzi.

Oof, I'm sorry. It's always such a shock.

I truly, truly believe when one door closes, another one opens... I know so many people who have been let go or left their jobs, and have ended up somewhere where they are happier, and often making more money!

Take a day or two to mourn/deal with the shock/etc., then focus on one of the happiest days of your life coming up! After the wedding, get back out there with a fresh mindset. Good luck!

I am so, so sorry you lost your job, especially so close to your wedding! I'm sure that is causing so much extra unnecessary stress right now. This will hopefully be a blessing in disguise. Maybe you will enjoy your next job as much as you liked this one. I know that easier said than done right now. If you have savings, I'd focus on getting through your wedding and maybe apply to one or two job a day, then go full force once your wedding is done.

I worked in the industry for a few years, I honestly did enjoy it. It takes special people to do it for sure! Keep your head up!!

Ugh what shitty timing!! I got laid off almost 3 years ago, and is was definitely a blessing in disguise!! I found a better paying job with more opportunity for advancement, and am super happy here. The first few days are the worst but you'll find somewhere just as great if not better to work!

I'm a staffing specialist so I hire and fire all day. If it makes you feel any better, I just got off the phone with somebody. Had to fire them because they kept taking 30 minute breaks at their job. I asked him why so many and so long and his response: I don't like farting in front of people. So at least you didn't get fired for THAT.

But in all seriousness, I'm sure you'll bounce back fine and a great new opportunity will present itself soon. Happy (almost) wedding week and here's all my virtual support!
