NWR: I need good vibes, good juju, prayers, good thoughts....***UPDATE in comments!***

Mrs. Batog-Huffman, on November 16, 2015 at 4:57 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 21

I posted in CF last week that I absolutely hate my job well my boss is out this week on vacation so I was able to schedule an interview today during and extended lunch without her knowing.

I am very qualified for the position and the position is actually a developing position that would lead into higher positions with more responsibility within the next 6 months to a year. My daily drive would go from 12 miles/30 minutes each way to 2.5 miles/7 minutes each way. I could go on and on about this job. The only downfall is that they don't offer health insurance which is a MUST for me with my health issues. We did discuss this at the interview and they seemed to be willing to either reimburse a percentage of my cost or make up the difference in pay. I think that the extreme decrease in commute and stress plus flexibility of the position far outweighs the extra cost I'll have to pay for insurance.

Any ways, it seems promising but I still need all the good vibes I can get!

    FW doesn't have health insurance currently. The company I work for now offered crappy insurance so I got my own policy and they reimburse me. I'll just be paying the full amount of my policy, I won't lose coverage but we'll have to pay out of pocket.

    Good luck, but I'd choose the insurance, especially since your FH doesn't have any.

    I got the job! They called me on Wednesday of last week and told me I got the position. They gave me two weeks to start with the official date being December 14th.

    I haven't told my current boss yet because I'm not sure how to handle it. I got a call last night on my way home and they said there has been a change of plans so they hope to start me this coming Monday, the 7th.

    Honestly, I planned on just walking out of here with no notice due to the situations that have been occurring and the fact that I really don't care if I get a reference from them or not. I feel like I should do the right thing and at least give them a weeks notice. They have a girl they can hire immediately so I know I'm not leaving them in the lurch completely. I'm still just not sure how to go about it.

    Congratulations!!!! Glad you got the job Smiley smile this is great news.

    Give your two weeks notice, to show that you're not stepping down to their level. You don't need a reference from them, but being polite and classy will be the final slap in that horrible boss's face.

    Do the right thing and give them some kind of notice. You may not want a referral from them, but you have no idea who your boss or co-workers will be in 5 years. Don't burn the bridge, just char it a little. I'd phrase it that a too good to pass up opportunity has fallen into your lap and you feel that you must take the steps necessary to ensure an amazing future for you and your FW.

    @SweetBean - Thank you!

    @VC - Why do Canadians always have to be so classy? Damn it! I'll be telling my boss as soon as she returns to the office and give her one week with one part time week to follow.

    @Brandy - I absolutely love your response.

    @Tania - Thank you. I'm actually looking into it as we speak!

    Congratulations! What good news! I would give the notice. Even if they are assholes, never burn bridges.
