Yesterday i started have bathroom issues, lightheaded , vomiting, and today a small bit of spotting. Today i can now feel the swelling on the aide of the cyst. Before i couldn't. I go to thr DR at 1:30 but until then I'm freaking out. Anyone else have these symptoms? Was it a rupture?

Ovarian cysts are very common and your hormones make them worse

I wound up in the hospital for 2 days when one of mine burst. Worst pain I have ever felt in my life.

I get them fairly often and I can always feel them. Luckily none have burst like the one that put me in the hospital but yea they hurt.

Does your dr. have you on a plan to try to get rid of them?

I've been on progesterone for a few months now and mine are definitely getting better. They don't hurt as much and at my last ultrasound, they were all shrinking a lot.

No plan. I have the mirena in. We were doing the watch and wait until the pain got worse and added symptoms. At hospital now hoping they call me soon since I had to have a full bladder.

I get these as well. Mine sometimes burst and I'll vomit and feel awful. I hope you feel better!

Are you at the hospital/ER or doctor's office? Thought you had a scheduled doctor's appointment...

And yes I think that is normal. Techs just do the x-rays and nurse or doc review the results with you.

Oh okay. Just guessing, he may have directed them to call him with the results asap so they can tell you to go see him directly after or not.

I had one, it ruptured, and then the pain went away. They are not fun. Based on size they will prob do an ultrasound and then decide if it needs to be removed or not

I had one that was fairly large like yours. I was headed home from grad school to see my doctor to check it and discuss having it surgically removed, when it ruptured in the airport. I didn't realize that was what was happening. The day it burst, I felt like someone had impaled me with a pole and I was being roasted on a spit. I just had issues walking during my connection, but thankfully, the Phoenix airport has moving sidewalks, so I didn't have to walk much. I was incredibly sore the next day during my scheduled ultrasound (I was sore all day, but having someone press hard on my abdomen was the icing on top of that cake), and only slightly sore the day after that.

Hoping they are able to help you!

Are you having it removed?? My sister's was the size of a volleyball and she has hers removed along with her ovary i do not want to scare you but if it is substantial sized they may need to remove the ovary and fallopian tube as they did with my sisters. She has the same issues but hers did not rupture.

Surprisingly its shrinking! They think it is just causing a hormonal imbalance now and that's why my stomach is upset. Guess that's as good as the news gets!

I used to have them all the time before I went on birth control pills to control them and control my period. The pain when it ruptured was completely unbearable. My mother had to pick my up off the bathroom floor and to the hospital because I couldn't even move or breathe! So, you would know if it ruptured. see the doctor and let us know how it goes.

    Hey Kristi,

I hope this turns out well for you. I had one rupture in May-- like you, vomiting, pain, a fever-- I had no idea what it was till I got an MRI at the clinic. Unfortunately for me, that lead to one infection, which lead to another (thank goodness for antibiotics!) which then lead to a summer of abdominal pain and low fever. Several trips to the doc and urgent care and no one could say what the heck was wrong. Eventually my immune system won and I am now all better-- I hope you have a much speedier recovery!
