NWR: Sore from 21 day fix and need motivation/tips for tomorrow!

MrsBest2B, on June 9, 2015 at 2:13 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 15

I started the 21 day fix (again) yesterday. I'm SO sore from yesterday, my legs are killing me! Tomorrow is leg day and I'm already scared lol. 21 day fix brides, or any brides who work out, how do you get through it when you're that sore but need to press on and get through it? Any tips on lessening the soreness?

Ibuprofen. It helps with the pain and the inflammation.

Do a good and thorough warm-up and do some light walking today, it'll help get things moving. I don't really believe in pain killers for stuff like this because it could hide injuries too if you keep pushing forwards.

Oh, and I tried a foam roller and it did REALLY help. You can go onto youtube and find out how to use one.

Honestly, the soreness is more motivation for me because it makes me feel like I'm actually accomplishing something, so I'm no help! haha The total body fix and lower body fix really do me in! I walk around like I have a stick up my butt.

Just do another workout and I swear that pain will go away while you're doing it. Granted, it will come back later on, but you will not feel it during the workout. If you're really bad, take some Aleve or Ibprofen as purplekitten stated. I did the 21 day fix last year and was sore through the first week. It went away after that. Good luck!

Lots of good stretching and tons of water before you work out. And take it slow, easing into the workout. Your muscles will feel better once they have been moved a bit.

I'm on my 4th day right now and am loving the workouts. Still struggling with getting the food part down though. (I'm not doing the Shakeology with it.)

Rachael, I'm still refusing to buy Shakeology but I've been using Nature's Bounty for about 2-3 months and love it! It's got almost the same ingredients as shakeology at a fraction of the price. You can get it at most drug stores, but I've found it at Puritan's Pride.com for $10.99. It's much cheaper there than anywhere else. It comes in chocolate and vanilla. Mixed with a little fruit and/or peanut butter I love them both. http://www.puritan.com/sports-and-diet-043/protein-shake-vanilla-050875

MrsBest2B have you tried Shakeology to compare taste? I used to use uni-key and hated that. My friend recommended nature's bounty and said it had the same ingredients as uni-key, but she actually liked the uni-key so I couldn't switch based on her judgement.

Elyse I haven't tasted Shakeology, but I really like the Nature's Bounty. I've had other protein shakes that I drink down in disgust, but this I really like. Not powdery or vitamin-like. Just tastes like vanilla and chocolate. I've never drank it on it's own though, I always put fruit in it so that may help.

Hey! I have done the 21 Day Fix and 21 Day Fix EXTREME and made it thru both of them! Its not easy but soooooo worth it! My recommendation is LOTS of stretching...If you can do a couple workouts a day add in the pilates or yoga DVD...all I do now is PiYo ( a mix of them both and I have been able to maintain my weight loss and more since the Fix (and having a baby Smiley smile My other recommendation is follow Kat (the modifier) Don't push your self too much but take it "easier" by following her- you are still working out! Smiley smile if you want anymore tips I would love to connect and encourage each other! Good luck girl!

I did an extreme boot camp last year and my trainer advised me to soak in a hot bath w Epsom salts. LOTS of Epsom salts. Soak for at least 20 mins. It helps a lot! I was amazed! Work through the pain. Within 10 mins of working out, your muscles will feel better. And stretch a lot. Throughout the day too. Don't sit around too much. Keep moving. I noticed the lazier I was, the more I hurt.

I've been doing the 21 day fix for a while now and usually the soreness goes away once you get into the workouts for a week or so. Hydration is important along with stretching. If you need to use the modifier, do it!

I stopped using the Shakeology as well and switched to Raw Meal and am much happier with the taste and the extra money in my wallet!
