I'm a sonographer and I've tried danskos but I twisted my ankle wearing them so I'm kinda scared to wear them again. I've heard they need to be broken in first and it can take a little while for your feet to get used to them. I currently wear nikes at work.

I wear Nikes at work. The dansko clogs look like they are terrible to walk in but I've never tried them. A girl in my nursing program wore Alegrias and they were so comfy when I tried them on. I couldn't justify the cost though when I was in school. I'm thinking about a pair now though!

I agree with the athletic shoe idea, if permitted, but don't just go to Big 5 Sporting Goods a buy a pair recommended here. Go to some Absurdly Expensive Running Shoe Store, where they'll fit you properly for how you walk, your arch, etc. and buy what they recommend. Then, when you walk through those shoes (also be *sure* and tell them why you want them-- shoes are built differently depending on the activity intended you can just say, "I want another pair of these" at any store). If athletic shoes don't fit the bill, I recommend SAS-- boring as all get out to look at, but professional and super comfy.

I definitely agree with Dansko! Very comfy for extended wear! ETA: the investment is worth it (they cost a little more than I usually like to spend on shoes)
