Some of you may remember my post about finding a brain tumor (named Richard) a couple months ago!
Well I just had it taken out on the 21st! I am 1.5 weeks post-op and doing great!
Here's my update!
--
I've had Richard with me for 30 years.
What they thought was a pituitary macroadenoma turned out to be a Rathke's Cleft Cyst (developed in the womb / benign & won't grow back).
And due to its mucus-y texture, it left "a mess".
I had a cerebrospinal fluid leak and chemical meningitis.
Most people get to go home 2-3 days after this type of surgery.
NOT THIS GAL!
I was in the ICU from Thursday to Monday night-ish (I lost track of time) when I finally got a general room (on the same floor)
Post-op MRI and CT scans showed they got pretty much all of it out.
I even got physical therapy for 3 days :/
Finally got to go home around Wednesday.
I had awful headaches, dizziness, nausea, light & sound sensitivity, and no sense of smell or taste.
