NWR: What are you PASSIONATE about?

I forgot to mention that although I can't do it anymore, another huge passion in my life is gymnastics. I was a gymnast for almost 13 years, was on a competition team for USTA/AAU, went to all sorts of local, state, and national competitions. My career unexpectedly ended at 17 due to a bad ankle injury that turned into surgery. So as the Olympics were going on I got teary eyed every time watching it lol. I've debated maybe getting back involved in some sort of adult dance class but I've also got an underlying long term shoulder problem too so who knows. But everyday I wish I was still in gym.

My pets! Especially my dog and horses! Oh and sea lions. I have an unhealthy obsession with sealions haha.

I am passionate about my cats (and other felines), food, History and traveling! Those are my main goals in life and i will soon start on my masters and i am nerdy out already! hahahaha

I am passionate about animals. I'm a veterinary technician, and I work in a small animal clinic caring for cats and dogs. I love my job! The best choice I ever made was to go back to school to do this for a living. I don't make much money and it's often stressful and very sad but I couldn't imagine going back to doing anything else.

I'm completely obsessed with all things Harry Potter and I have a general love for reading! I'm also quite passionate about cooking and baking. Though I'm having a super hard time finding something I'm passionate about that can turn into a career for me lol

I feel passionate about running and yoga. If someone would have told me two years ago that I will run and do yoga these days, I would obviously laugh. And now every day in the morning I run or do yoga. Life is unpredictable sometimes!

I'm passionate about cats and Native American rights. Weird combination right?

I love to run....and it's even better when I can run to raise money for organizations. A couple weekend ago I ran a race that benefited st. Judes research hospital. I also helped push a sweet girl who was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia through the race and to the finish line. She was so happy! Better than any medal I could receive!

Rescue pups. I will never understand the mistreatment of an animal - or a child for that matter. And it makes my blood boil. I would save them all if I could. I honestly believe that most pet problems would be solved with consistent love. Attention, exercise, affection, discipline.

Animal rescue. I'm a vet tech in a high volume spay/neuter clinic in a BIG animal shelter. I LOVE my job. Like...I went on vacation recently, and all I could think about toward the end of the trip was getting back to work. We help a LOT of low-income people get their pets fixed for no or very low cost, and it's soooo satisfying. I'm also lucky enough to work in a shelter that has the staff and resources to help out some homeless pets in need of serious medical care. We did an FHO on a feral cat yesterday. (an orthopedic surgery that would easily cost thousands to have done at a private practice)

I am also passionate about fostering, and I've been fostering for ten years. Mostly I take in neonatal kittens or medical cases that might otherwise be euthanized. Recently, about half of my medical cases have passed away and it's been breaking my heart, so I requested some fat, sassy bottle babies to cheer me up. Someone didn't remember that I'm not a puppy foster, and I got these guys...I can't believe how much I love them.

Underprivileged kids. I have 21 in my class and I've started the year very discouraged wondering "How am I going to get them to where they need to be?" But each year, I'm inspired by their progress. And I'm passionate about that.

I am passionate about learning. I love to learn new things and think it's important not to just sit with what you have. Always look for more!

I'm passionate about my children, my grandson, my writing, rescuing skinny, lost cats who introduce themselves by hissing at me, but who are later curled up on my bed purring, decor, watching the face of a bride as she is handed one of my creations, gorgeous flowers that I planted, nurtured, and watched bloom in all their glory, family relationships, Belvedere or Grey Goose Vodka, family weddings, perfumes and fabulous scents, beautiful cars and the dream of traveling the Autobahn, Anthony Hopkins films, family wars that end in truces, tears, and embraces, an absolutely kick ass, perfectly tailored suit (preferably in black, but navy blue is okay), crystal chandeliers, my computer, my online FB sisters, black leather jackets, black leather boots, really great cosmetics, MST 3K, Hammer Film Productions, my own gravy, sparkling Christmas ornaments from yesteryear, cleanliness and order, exacting sarcasm, people watching, moissanite, deep colored gem stones, and a specific, but varied, music catalog. There's more, but this is off the top of my head.

I'm passionate about health and fitness, especially concerning the young'uns! I worked as a trainer for years, and I'm now a school garden coordinator for a private school. I get to teach kids how to grow their own food and how important it is to eat foods that fuel their bodies!

I'm passionate about art! I love all media and I'm a children's art instructor. Lately I've worked hard on face painting and sfx makeup!
