NWR: would you peck kiss your parents/family on the lips?

The other day I was flipping through wedding pics with a friend/acquaintance and she saw a photo from our ceremony of my dad giving me away. In the photo I am giving him a peck kiss--kinda between lip and cheek. She thought it was weird enough to comment on and said "I haven't given/received a kiss from my dad since I was little.i didn't know people did that over elementary age." First off I thought it was a little rude for her to comment since we aren't that close but the more I thought about it, I don't feel like there is anything strange or wrong with it, as it isn't sexual in any way/shape/form. my family has always been very open and affectionate, and I guess I never realized how many families are not. while we are primarily cheek kissers- it is not unheard of for a lip peck in certain situations(with my mom/dad...wouldn't lip kiss my brothers), like greeting or saying goodbye when it has been/will be a long time before seeing each other again. In your family what is the norm?

My family hugs, and occasionally cheek kisses. We aren't very affectionate. DH's mother kisses him on the lips and it does freak me out a bit. We are all raised differently though, so I don't say anything about it.

My family doesn't kiss usually but FH's family does kisses on the cheek a lot. It threw me off at first but I never judged it.

Oh my goodness, my oldest child is 10 and he lip kisses me in public....he is my baby and hope they never stop giving me love, even on his wedding day! Definately not strange. Maybe its just me but kissing your parents should never be awkward no matter the age. I still lip kiss my gram and grandpa....idk to each their own I guess!

I have always kissed my mom on the mouth. Probably always will. I have a photo of my mom kissing my grandmother days before my grandma died and it was a kiss on the mouth. It's how it is in my family. We are big on hugs as well. My husbands family are not as affectionate but they will give small hugs to each other.

I lip kiss my mom sometimes and I lip kiss my friends sometimes. I cheek kiss my dad. It's definitely not something that would stand out to me. Seems like a normal thing to do. I kissed my step daughter on the lips when I tucked her in tonight. She's 7.

Cheek kissers. It was rude for her to say anything since some adult children do kiss their parents on the lips.

We only kiss on the cheek. But we also kiss everyone we meet on the street ( even people who just got introduced) first left then right cheek. Sometimes you end up getting kissed on your mouth by accident . Just forget about her commend.

I find it bizarre that some families lip kiss, but she was rude to make that comment about your photo.

Don't let it phase you, it really isn't a big deal. Some people are rude, that's not your problem.

The thought makes me uncomfortable if that were to ever happen in my family. It's weird to me. But just for my family. I see other families do it all the time and I don't blink an eye. Maybe it's because when you see it it's so fast a thing you know? And the photo captured it making it seem longer than it was? Idk just tell her to fuck off lol don't worry your mind about it Smiley smile
