nye 2021 Wedding

This is our color inspiration. Currently struggling with deciding if I want my bridesmaids all in sequin and my MOH in chiffon to stand out or just everyone in sequin. We are also doing accents of champagne and silver. Guys are in navy.

Oh no, where are you located? we are doing ours at a Hilton because pretty much our entire family will be traveling so it was easier. Hotels might be better priced maybe?

That is so cool! We never thought we would pick NYE but the wedding planner at the venue actually suggested it. I figured it would be a higher charge because of the date but they are actually giving us the typical 10% off for Friday wedding!

View Quoted Comment I was joking when we first started to talk about dates and then the more we thought about it and picked our venue we absolutely love the idea. Our venue is also giving us a deal and we're having a 6 hour reception 7-1 with a 2 hour cocktail hour 7-9! The only draw back is doing a first look which we were not going to do but are good with the idea now after speaking with photographers.

That is super cool! I wasn't sure about a first look either but the more I talk to others the more common it seems to be. I also like the idea of being able to socialize with everyone at cocktail hour. I love to dance so I want to dance for sure! How did you get the 2 hour cocktail hour? Is it an extra cost? Are you doing your ceremony earlier and then the longer reception? We have currently a 1 hour cocktail hour and then 5 hour reception. We want to watch the ball drop with our guests so are current plan was ceremony 7-7:30 cocktail 7:30-8:30 reception 8:30-12:30. I wonder if we can make our cocktail hour longer.. I am getting so many ideas from everyone here! lol

View Quoted Comment The wedding will be in Idaho and yes we are looking into hotels since we have a lot of travelers as well. So far most of the hotels don't have the date available or they have the date available but none of the hotel rooms will be available for us. It has been crazy.

I loved the idea of gold sequined dresses for the bridesmaid, but several of my Bride Tribe are bigger beautiful ladies and I don't think they would be comfortable nor would it look good. So I'm thinking of going with Black same fabric, but design of your choice. Are the other NYE's brides who have picked gold as a wedding color concerned?

View Quoted Comment So we just told our venue what we were looking for and hoping to do. And they luckily were so flexible and loved the idea so they said no problem! Our price per person is a set bottom price and then depended on our food selections. So it wasn't an extra cost. They are even giving us an additional champagne toast at midnight (rose colored to match color scheme their idea!) Our ceremony is at 6:30. Our tentative timeline is 3:30-3:45ish first look and then pictures (sunsets in CT at 4:31 that day) the ceremony 6:30-7, 7-9 cocktail hours, 9 introduction first dance speech etc., plated dinner (we're not doing a multi course because our cocktail hour is more interactive with stations and all the course options available) then from dinner on dancing and partying midnight DJ will stream the ball drop and countdown, 12 we have late night snacks coming out and reception goes til 1!

NYE bride here. We’re in NJ but getting married in Miami. So far just planning on 40-50 guests. My sister keeps having to reschedule her big wedding so we’re starting off small. Venues booked but that’s it so far.

We're NYE this year also! In St. Augustine. What are y'all finding to be the average price for hotels? I keep feeling guilty that it's going to be expensive for guests! A lot of hotels have 2-3 night minimums over the holiday weekend.

I originally wanted gold sequin dresses as well but we're doing velvet dresses because of that exact reason! The fabric on the sequin dresses shows everything and is super unforgiving!
