nye Wedding Colors

Nicole, on July 9, 2018 at 9:02 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 9

I am having the hardest time trying to decide my New Years Eve wedding colors. I really like the idea of Champagne or a dark silver, how did you pick your colors? I am overwhelmed! What's your opinion?

I like the idea of champagne and/or dark silver (pewter?) with other colors. NYE always reminds me of black, gold, silver, and TONS of sparkles.

We went with black, white, grey, and gold. We chose ours because we wanted neutral colors so we didn't have to compete with the decor of our venue. I also wanted to print some of our paper items at home and I didn't want to have to struggle with making sure colors matched.

Great points to your decision making process! Smiley winking

Nicole, NYE definitely offers an excuse to go all out with metallics and sparkles, but you don't want to be too overwhelming with bold colors as well! Champagne and/or dark silver (NYE perfection), gold, matte neutrals to complement the glitz...I found a few images on Pinterest that I just had to share! Smiley smile

I went with all things glitz and glam because you get to do that NYE! I did rose gold, burgundy, navy and ivory. I literally utilized pinterest for color palettes and went with all sparkles!

I''m having a hard time as well, but for the most part am just keeping it gold and black, the girls have their choice of dress colors from gold black and navy. I feel like most people will wear anything that sparkles. We are doing gold vases with not sure what flowers in the middle on mirrors with candles. Super simple. A confetti cannon at midnight and party hats and what not for midnight. Don't over think it, just have fun with it. You cant go wrong with any colors

My fiance and I are having a metallic theme. Bronze, silver, and gold. It's just what comes to mind when I think of NYE. I strongly recommend looking on Pintrest for some ideas.

My fiancé and I are doing blue and white. I just absolutely love the color blue and it looks very nice on him with his complexion plus it brings out the color of my eyes.

If it were my NYE wedding. I would do copper and a dark navy blue. You still get the metallic and the dark navy is great instead of black.

I’m also getting married NYE this year!
I had a hard time choosing colors as well so my mom said it might be easier if I pick a theme. Do you want elegant or cocktail party, etc. So we decided black tie would be the perfect way to bring in all the fun of the holiday without taking away from it being our wedding day (my biggest worry). We’re sticking with black, gold and white. We got engaged on Christmas and it’s my favorite holiday so for me the white is going to be more like “snow”. My bridesmaids are wearing black velvet dresses, the groomsmen are wearing black tuxes and my fiancé is wearing a navy tux with black lapels so he stands out with me. Our ring bearer is wearing black pants, white button down and gold satin suspenders & bow tie. Our flower girls (we have 3 nieces) will either wear long sleeve ivory dresses with tights and gold shoes & hair bows or gold sequin and white dresses. My future MIL is going to wear a sparkly navy dress so she can match her son which I think will be the cutest. We’re putting more of the festive ness in the decorations like big round confetti balloons with tassels, a small balloon arch, sequin cake table cover and so on.
I hope that helps you! Just remember that all the golds, champagnes, peaches, navy, blacks and silvers compliment one another so they’re going to be interchangeable!
