We’re getting married 10/24/20 and I’m starting to panic about our date. I’m hearing about “second wave” with covid and such. This wedding CANNOT be postponed (been together for 12+ years and want to start a family ASAP!) and I’ve been so set on October for years. How’s everyone else with October...

I’ve been doing so much crying and panicking Smiley sad

I am also 10/24/20. I have all my vendors together, dress is bought. Just waiting for it to come in and it should be in mid June.

I don't plan on postponing just yet. We are going to wait until late August/early September to make that call. I think it's too early to make any sort of decisions, given that our wedding date is 5 months away and a lot can change in that time period.

We kept our date but have a back up plan in place. We already booked our honeymoon to a sandals resort in Jamaica. If worse comes to worst, we will get married at the sandals resort and just have a reception here at home some time after

Our date is 10-17-20 and I also just keep going back & forth about what to do..it was nice to read what everyone else is doing.

My gut is that things will not be “normal” by then..and even if we are allowed to have 100 guests (which I don’t think will be the case), I think many will still feel uncomfortable. I feel that I’m being a little pessimistic about it..but it’s just the not knowing that is horrible. The plan will be to get married with just immediate family on our date & have a reception next year. We have not made the “official” call..but I don’t know how much longer I can wait. As many have said, waiting would be fine..if it didn’t force you into a small time frame to plan the rest of the wedding.
    Good luck everyone!

    Hey Any,
Yeah we’ve got all the important things down as well. One of our concerns was save dates / invites. We were just about to send out save the dates in March with Invites to follow at the 4-5 month mark but then things got really bad here in NYC. We didn’t want to send invites while being unsure on cdc and government mandates during that time. Did you send save the dates / invites well in advance? or are you having similar issues?

We just opted out of save the dates. Almost everyone knows the date of the wedding, so we will probably just be doing invites a little early!

Hi Marissa, first off. Thank you for all you do as a healthcare worker. 🙌🏻 I’m not from Rhode Island but fiancé is and we are getting married here June 4, 2021. I thought we’d be in the clear originally and now I’m not so sure. I’m trying to research what Gina is allotting for outdoor wedding restrictions right now and it’s really difficult to understand what is allowable and not with capacity limits. I know at some point outdoor venues were capped at 100 ppl. I don’t know if that’s been supplanted with some other restriction or not. I know regardless, a lot can change between now and early next summer but I’m a planner/contingency planner to the max. Do you have any insider insight on the capacity stuff as someone who is currently planning an RI wedding and also living there now?

Hello!!!! As of right now we are planning for May 2021 still at the 100 max. And we have well over that. I don’t know if I should push it to fall. I know they said no More than what it is now until the vaccine comes out. We are having ceremony on deck that can hold up to 100 people but the rest is indoors at Quidnessett and we had about 210-220 on our list. I will keep you updated but I don’t know yet either what to do. 😕
