October 2021 Brides- Back up plans?

Brooke, on February 4, 2021 at 2:58 PM Posted in Planning 0 8
How are my fellow covid brides doing? We postponed our wedding to October of 2021, and I am still a bit nervous. I thought we could talk plan b and exchange ideas Smiley smile so far I’m hoping we can still have a 75 person wedding at our venue, but our potential back up plan is to have a small backyard wedding. I just don’t know when to send invites or anything like that. Let me know how you’re doing!

Brooke, what state are you in? We reduced our wedding from over 200 to 75 just to be safe, but here in Greenville, SC we aren't having to make too many changes!

Does your venue have an outdoor option? If not, I would say a backyard wedding would be beautiful! The end game is to be married, so personally, Im not moving my wedding back! If push comes to shove and we aren't able to have the wedding we/re thinking, we will go to the courthouse!

We only are inviting between 50-60 to play it safe and we can also move the reception to the sanctuary or courtyard of the church. Both are large spaces.

I’m sorry, I totally understand where you’re at! October 2021 is our postponed date too, and now I’m worried that it still won’t be what we want. Our plan is to get married on that date, even if it means downsizing. We’re getting married in TX in an indoor/outdoor venue that was oversized even for our initial guest list, so our concern is more around our high-risk parents than regulations. For now I’ve just been staring at my STD’s for the past month wondering if/when to send them?! We made a timeline last year when we postponed of criteria required to go forward on bigger vs smaller wedding and we are sitting down this weekend to review and figure out next steps. Good luck!

That sounds realistic, I’d be hopeful for now.

We got married last year and our big wedding was scheduled to March 2021 which then got postponed to October 21. We cut our guest count to 80max and plan to go through with it as long as it's allowed. Even if we have to cut to the current restrictions which is 60

I'm getting married October 2021 and planning as normal. Getting married in PA. I am hopeful for a normal ish wedding of about 150 people. New Jersey just released that they are allowing indoor events such as (weddings/church services) for up to 150 people so that is encouraging. I think that October is still 8 months away and things will slowly get better each month that goes by.

We are having our reception in Maine on October 2. We are planning for 75ish indoors, but will move forward as long as we can have 50 (which is currently allowed).

Sending our Save the Dates later this month or next month. Feeling optimistic and positive about being able to have our 150 person wedding in Georgia.
