October 2021 Brides, we are almost there!
I've been seeing a lot of posts about Save the Date and Invitation timing and it's got me thinking. From the start (since the postponement), I've been planning on sending our invitations today but I decided to hold off because I'm thinking it might be too early? I've seen tons of posts abut out the 6-8 week standard so if I mail them today, that's 12.5 weeks. Our venue (includes caterer and bar) require a final headcount 30 days prior to wedding which is why I thought I needed to mail them now, which is 6-8 weeks from that deadline not the wedding date.
50% of our guests are out of town with a majority of them having to travel by plane.
Should I mail them in 3-4 weeks, July 26 (or no later than August 1) to allow guests 4 weeks to respond by our August 29th deadline or do I give them more time to respond? The original Save the Dates went out in early March 2020 for October 2020 then New Date cards went out in July 2020 for October 2021. I think most guest remember the new date, but I know some don't. People are starting to ask, too.
What are your thoughts? October brides, what is your timeline?
Thank you!
