Where’s everyone at on their planning? Would love to here what stage others are on.

We are on a standstill we got everything booked vendor wise back in September. Haven’t really done anything besides decor and centerpiece shop. Gonna start getting STD out in January.

All of our vendors are booked except florist and baker, but we've got appointments set up for both within the next few months. Neither will book until at least January so we've been stuck waiting. Our invitation suite is nearly done because I designed that myself like first thing lol. Waiting for some snow to get engagement photos for save the dates...

I got a ton done in like the first 8 months of being engaged and had a break for like 5 months, so I'm slowly trying to figure out where we're at now and that to do next. We're going this weekend to hopefully finalize suits. Some decor I've already bought, but it's so hard trying to visualize what you need this far out! What theme and colors have you chosen?

We are doing burgundy and red this is my bouquet that we have been going off of. We are going with a boho theme and have been garage sailing with random old glasses and bowls. We are in central Illinois and our venue is camp wokanda so it’s very woodsy. We are just trying to do the most laid back decor cause it’s all diy and no planner. My mother and my godmother do weddings for a living so we have just been doing it ourselves. We have everything booked besides hair and makeup but I really don’t know if that’s even worth it. I’d rather not spend the money but everyone things I should to take that stress off but idk how I feel about someone else doing my makeup. October 2022 weddings 🧡 1

I'm getting married on October 29th 2022. We have been able to get the reception and the ceremony venues booked as well as the catering that is attached to the reception hall. We got the bridesmaid and maid of honor dresses picked out and bought. We have our engagement photo shoot this weekend and the down payment on the wedding photos has been paid. This weekend we are working on the music for the wedding and the reception as well as a early/later reception playlist. Still working on getting a florist. I'm a little torn because I hate the idea of killing a bunch of flowers just for one day. The bouquet for sure will he real but I'm trying to decide if I want to use real flowers for everything and waste them or just on certain things and silk flowers everywhere else. Any thoughts?

Addendum: I also have found and bought the dress. We just need florist, DJ, singers/music for ceremony itself, among other things.

I got engaged in September. So at the moment, I just started. I have a bunch of tours set up for venues. We do have the caterer and photographer set.

We actually opted against the STDs to try and save a little money. We will just be sending out the invites a little sooner than normal.

What were your thoughts on bridesmaid proposals?

We did paper flowers and they are absolutely beautiful. As well as Sam’s club and costco have bulk baby’s breath and that’s what we are using for our bouquets and flowers in total it is like 500. Definitely bang for our buck on that one. We are doing fake cause my FH is allergic to flowers. We got a toss bouquet from hobby lobby that looked identical to my bridesmaids was a little bit hurt about that cause it was $10 v $40 😂

I agree with getting gifts for the bridesmaids and maid of honor. I just asked my ladies and they said yes. So not all that into an actual "proposal" technically. Also, what does the acronym for STD stand for?

I like that idea. Every time I've mentioned fake flowers, his parents and my friends look at me funny because they don't understand how much I hate wasting perfectly good flowers. The Hobby Lobby idea seems like a good one. Smiley laugh

For my bridesmaid proposal I am doing their jewelry for the wedding. Which will be a cute and simple necklace. And then I did a few self care things. Like a shower head wrap and other things that I knew they would use. Their favorite candy and I am getting a cricut for Christmas and have plans to make cups for them. That will say their name. I tried to keep it simple and cheap I only have 2 my best friend and sister who are maid of honor and jr maid of honor. I haven’t given them yet however because they both knew they were gonna be my maid of honors before I had even been proposed to yet. I can say though doinf our STD at Walgreens was my cheapest route and save with my invites we will be doing the same. We got 50% off and they were like $30 for 50 October 2022 weddings 🧡 2

We were too until I went to hobby lobby and Michael’s and found a few and got some just so that we could see what they would be like. We are dying ours whatever color we want which is cool the Etsy shop we used even had a few made out of books that were really cute

We were gonna do photos on our STD but decided to just do something simple and cute and do the invites more dolled up. I’d rather spend the money on those than the others. However our engagement photos were not my favorite so still trying to find one I like. They were all done very far away. There were no closeups at all

I’m getting married on October 1, 2022 and our wedding is more like an elopement with around 10 family members. So far, I have booked the ceremony and reception venue (they’re also doing catering / the cake on site which knocks that out too), given our photographer the down payment, chosen a color scheme, and a family member who will be officiating our wedding just got his wedding license. Now I’m going to start working on save the dates & will probably start looking for a wedding dress soon.

I tried to stay really cheap with my wedding dress and found one on Amazon that I liked. It was $45 and it’s a cute boho a great material I was worried about how cheap it would be but definitely wasn’t October 2022 weddings 🧡 3

I got engaged a few weeks ago. Our wedding date is October 9th 2022! So far we have booked the venue, caterer, DJ and photographer. I'm going dress shopping this weekend with my sisters. Already have the STD's and invitations/RSVP's picked out. Still have to find a florist, bakery and officiant!

Getting Married 10/16/22 and cant find a caterer or DJ to save my life.

I reached out to one caterer that said they "work with your budget" and then quoted me 15K for a buffet.

    I'm struggling yall.

Ooh that is rough! How many people are you quoting for? Are you open to something like BBQ or a local restaurant catering? Sometimes that can be cheaper.
