Hi everyone!

We booked our venue and have our date picked (10/10/25), and as crazy as this sounds - I'm bored!

I want to dive head first into planning and do all the things... but it's too soon. We do have a save the date picked out (too soon to order). I've made a guest list... and budgeting spreadsheets... and planning spreadsheets.... and have all the lists...

Any suggestions to scratch the planning itch without going overboard?

Ok! Want to pick your brain here. So, like I said were 10/10/25…. People know. When would you recommend sending save the dates? All the timelines say January 2025, but again, impatient. I was thinking next fall? It’s a whole year in advance, which feels silly since it’s not a destination, but then again… why not? Interested in your POV!

Wax sealers are awesome. I am also doing that. Have you picked out your music yet?

Sending your save the date a year in advance is not a bad idea. I thought about doing that as well.

I have already started making my centerpieces and bouquets. I'm sending my save the dates as Christmas cards this year.

So I’m working on our save the dates. Most of my family and friends know the wedding date since they e been asking constantly since we got engaged 12/31/22. I’ll probably be sending my save the dates by the end of this year

    Hi and Congratulations!!
I am actually in the same boat! Our wedding is in October of 2025 as well so I get the bored feeling. I decided to book the venue and date, create bridesmaid proposal and groomsmen proposal boxes, and I actually decided to get a quote on florals, dj/photographer, and a couple other things. We kind of have the luxury of first come first serve, but if you wait until 2024 or 2025 to book some of those things, the prices could go up. If you book in 2023, you should be locked into the current prices that are being offered. I also decided to kind of pre plan as much as possible so that way I’m not bombarded with tasks when we get closer to the date. Sending out your save the dates early also will help ensure that as many people can come as possible.

    I hope this is helpful!!!

No girl me too! Get out there and start pintresting, hobby lobby buying. 10/11/2025(technically our 20th but first big wedding), booked photographer and do engagement photos next sat, booked venue, booked dj, booked video photographer, know who's in the wedding, picked a dress but need to buy it, booked cater, kind of know who's doing cake...you got to stay busy and on top of everything. time goes fast!

You sound just like me! Smiley xd I'm pre-planning as much as I can and I totally agree about the 2023 vs 2024/2025 bookings. I'm researching florists and DJs. I have a photographer in mind. If it were solely up to me, I'd be done planning already. I flagged some things for proposal boxes so perhaps I'll focus on those and ask my BMs "early".

I don’t know where you’re located but I’m my area there are sometimes wedding resale markets where people sell eveything from their wedding, great deals and fun inspiration!

Mine is Aug 2025, we haven’t booked but decided on the venue and working on the contract.
I have been shopping for my pre-wedding looks (engagement photos, bach party, rehearsal, etc) and making purchases slowly to not break the bank.
I also just been looking at decor & stationary on Etsy and adding to my favorites 🥴

OMG BABE THAT'S ME TOO!! Venue is not yet booked but I've been eyeing it and scheduling a tour soon. I'm creating my guest list, scheduling a dress try on the beginning of next year, looking at save the dates but haven't found the right one until after we take the engagement photos. I am literally all over the place but want to get it done. What about centerpieces? What's your theme? My wedding date is 10/17/25!

Hi!! Overwhelmed? Definitely start with a budget and a vision board. What do you both want the day to look and feel like. What’s important that you want to include? None of it’s set in stone but it will help you start to shape how you want the day to look.

Hi!! It can be overwhelming but I’d say start with your budget and a vision board so you can start to piece together what you want your day to look and feel like. It doesn’t have to be set in stone but it will help you decide what you like. Do you know what season you’d like?

2025 feels sooo far away but I know it’s not!

We initially wanted rustic and then as we toured venues realized that was NOT for us. We booked a hotel/banquet space because it was the perfect fit and as most guests are from out of town, it makes it easy as far as room blocks go.
The venue offers them and they’re actually nice so we’ll use those. When I find a florist I plan to ask them for florals that can be used for the ceremony arch and then moved inside for the reception. Flowers are expensive so I’d like to get my money’s worth from them, you know?!
Trying dresses was way more fun than I expected and I’m looking forward to going again in the spring.

So I'm thinking about real flowers but I haven't quite looked into a florist just yet. How was that journey?

I haven't looked quite yet other than to flag a few that are in the area. Flowers aren't a big deal to either of us so we're not planning to spend a lot on this category.
