October 3rd, 2020 wedding in south Florida. Should i postpone ?

Karly, on June 18, 2020 at 8:58 AM Posted in Florida Planning 0 5
I am really starting to get worried that we most likely will have to post pone our wedding. The rest of Florida is already on phase 2 but I am in the Broward/Miami area and we are still waiting to be put into phase 2. The bars and other dance clubs in the other areas of Florida have started opening up so that kind of gives me hope . I don’t want to settle and have to cut my list or have a social distancing wedding . Is there any other brides down in south Florida that are postponing their 2020 fall wedding ? Or any one that is not is in any other location having doubts about their Fall wedding ?

    Hey Karley,

I’m getting married on 10/10/2020 in Va. I’m just really watching to see what happens closer to Oct. UVA has scheduled their graduation for that same weekend so I’m just keeping an eye on what they plan to do and then we’ll make a decision. Hoping we can get through with out any issues! Happy Planning! It’s almost here!

I am getting married in Tampa in September.

I think that to have a wedding this year most likely there will be some amount of settling. Whether it be cutting the guest list or social distancing requirements. Honestly, these may extend into next year- no one knows. If you don't want to settle, I would postpone if you're able to and your venue can accommodate you

It is hard to say. I live in Tampa Bay and the cases keep going up. I would check with the venues to see what options you do have. See if you can wait until August as that is closer to but if you know you want a regular wedding experiences I don't know if that will be within the next few months since most people in Florida are forgetting this virus exists and not taking things seriously which is causing problems.

I believe it is too early to tell at the moment, with the cases rising in certain states things have become so uncertain. I think having a talk with your vendors to see if there is a plan b that your guys can put in place in case of things winding back down. Best to be prepared in case of anything, I really hope that people can go on and have their weddings by the end of summer.

Hi Karly! As everyone has said, it's still so difficult to predict especially this far away from your wedding day!

Here are two other discussions I found from Florida brides with fall weddings you can connect with: Need Opinions!! September Florida Bride! and Florida November 2020 Brides. And here's a post with other October brides from all over: October 2020 Brides, are you postponing?
