October 9th in fl or September 5 in mo

Hey everyone! I just got engaged and I am trying to decide when and where to get married. My home town is STL Missouri but I love the idea of having a beach wedding and an at home reception. My dates I’m trying to choose between are October 9 (possibly even the 16 if it would make a difference in weather) in St Pete Florida by passa grille or September in MO Labor Day weekend, which is when the FH and I met so it’s a special date and would be beginning of fall here. How hot and rainy can I expect a beginning of October wedding in Florida?

Hi Kelsey!! According to accuweather the rainy months in St. Pete are actually August and September, and it should be much drier in October with average highs around 84 degrees!

(Although I’m an October bride who got surprised by a hurricane so don’t take my word for it!)

I would go to FL simply because I love the beach and want a beach wedding too lol. If you want your wedding to be attended by a lot of people, MO sounds the way to go.

Florida weather is pretty unpredictable. One minute is beautiful and the sun is shining and 5 minutes later is stormy then back to sunny. Or it’s hot for weeks then it’s cold for one day then back in the 90’s.

Early-Mid October is a great time for weather in Florida. It definitely can be unpredictable but its usually starting to cool down a little and the rainy season is ending. I'd say average is high around 80-85 during the day, low 70s at night. The later you push into October the better as each week later you get, the better chance of cooler weather you have. Do keep in mind that it's hurricane season still, so you should definitely consider event insurance with hurricane coverage.
