October brides!

Hey! Fellow October 13th bride!

I am very happy with how planning is coming along for us. So far we've gotten all this done:

- Chosen our venue (it'll be in a beautiful park in my fiance's hometown)

- Chosen our wedding party (2 bridesmaids and 2 groomsmen only, just wanted the most special people to us in it)

- Chosen our officiant (my fiance's uncle is doing it for us)

- Decided on a color scheme (burgundy and sunflower yellow)

- Taken engagement photos (it was an amateur photoshoot, but lovely all the same)

- Created our wedding hashtag (#HappilyEverWebers)

- Started working on our wedding site (almost done with it!)

- Designed our invitations (we're creating them ourselves. very happy with their look)

- Gotten most of the guest list done (just working on adding the last few people)

- Decided on the dress I want (just have to order it!!)

- Almost finalized our budget (we have a rough estimate but ironing out details now)

Still soooo much to do, but I'm proud of the progress so far

Oct 6th, so far...

-about to mail the Save the Dates, they're finally designed/printed/addressed (postcard, no photos of us...skipped that)

-About to book DJ

-Have photographer

-Booked venue and church for ceremony/did pre-cana

-90% ready with our menu, did the tasting

-Booked shuttles for guests/wedding party

-have makeup and hair (same vendor) and doing a makeup trial next week. TBD on hair, need to find the right extensions.

-Finalizing the shower date/venue/contract

-Bridesmaids have started planning the bachelorette/getting a date and place

-website is up on minted, we also linked it for RSVPs to avoid printing and mailing more postcards

-found mary jane shoes from ModCloth and hoping for the best (Jarrod is short)

-we're not doing a cake, the venue is doing a spread of deserts and fruit, and we're bringing apple cider donuts from a local farm

-hotel for guests (it's at Mt. Snow in vermont so everything is in one spot)

need to (the main ones):

-Find bridesmaid dresses

-Find a vintage car (which is proving to be challenging)

-Go to NY to find a different lace hem for the bottom of the dress for the seamstress (I bought it as is, from a warehouse)

-Decide suits (we have color ideas but want to find them less expensive than men's warehouse)

-decide centerpieces (we have collected over 30 deer antlers, I'm not having a florist so it's vases/candles/wood/antlers/basic greenery)

-begin invite designs (I'm a designer so this takes me a long time to decide/create)

-figure out floral bouquets, plan to bulk order from costco and make them myself

-In search of a feather birdcage, full 1920's drama

-no idea about jewelry yet

-no action on bridesmaid gifts

-we looked at wedding bands and have ideas started

-need to get a stamp made with our address

-no rehearsal dinner location yet

-all the signage etc for seating, unplugged wedding, gift box, table numbers, and we want to do a polaroid traveling (instapix i think) camera vs. a photobooth

I'm feeling ok but also, behind so this feed has been helpful.

We've kept organized with one spiral notebook, one folder, and a google doc for names and addresses with space to fill in RSVP and meal info.

Ladies!! My wedding is coming up in two months!!
I'm feeling overwhelmed! I sent out my invites last week. Still need to send out rehearsal dinner invites. I just feel like I'm going to forget a bunch of stuff!! I need to meet with all the vendors in person one last time before the big day! I'm getting ready for work but I'll write more later!
