October Pennsylvania Red Zone Brides

Jenny, on May 17, 2020 at 3:59 PM Posted in Pennsylvania Planning 0 8
Where are my brides that are getting married in October that are still in the red zone?! We are getting married in Lehigh county (red zone) and are getting a little anxious about what’s going to happen. Our venue told us that a few fall brides have already moved their date. I think it’s still early but I need some input.

I'm not in this situation, but what I've heard people considering the most is the ease of rescheduling (i.e. will your desired postponement dates book up if you wait too long), size of your guest list, and how much money you'll lose if you start rescheduling. Good luck and we're all definitely here to help you with the pros and cons!!

Hey there neighbor, we live in Northampton county! Though we are getting married on Long Island. I wish I could offer advice. Lehigh county's numbers have looked okay for the past couple days, and Carbon county just moved to yellow (I check Worldometers daily for the county-by-county stats). Unfortunately, correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Wolf has said how long he intends for yellow phases to go on. So even if Lehigh county moves into the yellow phase, I don't know how long it would be until green. Will your venue let you hold a backup date? Ours let us hold one for a few weeks while we made a decision.

Montgomery County here. Having my big ceremony in NC, but all of my guests feel comfortable to travel and my coworkers in Montco and Bucks Co with fall weddings are feeling good!

Hi! We are getting married in Bucks County in PA in October and our county is still in the red too. Our venue has been very accommodating and is hopeful and positive for October.
We aren’t going to worry until we hear a final decision by late July. All we think will change is the amount of guests allowed might decrease.

We are getting married in Lancaster county, our original date was sept 5th and we just rescheduled to April. I talked to a lot of our guests and realized that many of them wouldn’t be comfortable being around that many people by September even if things do start to normalize. We don’t want our wedding to be people scared to get too close to eachother and wearing masks. Our venue and vendors have been SO accommodating and we were happy to be able to get the last Saturday available for 2021. I think having a backup plan would be a great start so you can lock down a good date with all of the rescheduling going on

I am in Bucks county and my date is October 25th. As of right now I'm moving forward with wedding plans. I'm staying positive and will reevaluate in July/August if we need to postpone or other plans .

Hey neighbors! I live in Montco, wedding will be in the Lehigh Valley in early September. We are planning on going forward as of now after rescheduling from April. We are having an intimate "microwedding" and expecting about 18 people, most who can drive or willing to fly with the appropriate gear to keep them safe.

I think going forward by the end of June we will have a good idea how this may play out. Something to consider is the size of your guest list and whether you are willing to make it shorter if needed or prefer to have a big wedding and postpone to when things are safer.
