October Wedding in Florida

USF_Bride, on August 8, 2012 at 12:20 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 6

I'm having a difficult time picking a color scheme for my October Wedding. I thought about a dark orange and maroon but i don't really know if I'm crazy about it. Originally we were planning on a July wedding and I picked teal, gray, and light yellow colors but I don't know how those would look in a fall wedding. I guess it's a bonus living in Florida because we don't really have season changes like other places. Any advice or suggestions??

I agree that we dont have seasons down here. The one thing I would steer clear of is bright colors. Teal, Gray and light Yellow will look really nice because you have the gray and light yellow to tone down the teal. It sounds beautiful! My first wedding was in March in South Florida and I had Fuschia and Tangerine! I would never have picked these colors in the fall or winter. Sounds beautiful, cant wait to see the colors together.

If you want the teal, gray, and yellow then go for that. I personally hate when people pick their color pallet ONLY based on the season and not because they like it. We are doing purple and green and originally had planned an October wedding as well (in Florida) but had to move our date to March, but the colors stayed the same because that is what I want.

I think your original color choice is beautiful and will look good no matter what time of year it is. And like you said, it's not like you can tell what season it is here anyway Smiley winking

I think because we live in Florida there are no rules. We only have three seasons and some years only two! lol The only thing to consider in regards to season is flower choices.

I think those choices sound beautiful! I live in south florida as well and Ashley is right! We have super hot and rain seasons. I'm getting married in late June and am doing jewel tones for my wedding even though some people said that its summer i should do pastel- even though I hate pastels!!!

I'm getting married in November in Florida and absolutely do not care! I am having blush (although its on the darker side of blush), gray, black and white. Almost spring colors. The good thing is everything is on sale from what the June brides didn't buy.

It's not because you live in Florida, it's because colors do not have to match the season. Go for the colors you like!
