October Wedding Theme and Colors.....in Phoenix!

Lisa, on February 6, 2011 at 4:06 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 19

Hi Ladies! We are having our wedding mid-October in the Phoenix area are are trying to decide on a theme and colors. I do love the classical/typical Fall themes, however it will still be quite warm here and I'm not sure falling leaves will really be appropriate. As far as colors, we are leaning towards red/cranberry or eggplant....our venue is very neutral so I want to use bold colors that will pop and I haven't found anything that I'm totally in love with just yet. Any suggestions? Thanks so much, Ladies! I look forward to your wonderful ideas!

Found a few inspiration boards for you. Hope these help. I really like the eggplant and green - I feel like it pops!

Lisa just because you are having a "fall" wedding doesn't mean you are limited to colors. I am having a fall wedding and I am having blue, black and white. You can have anything you want as far as your imagination takes you. Since you live in Arizona and it rains like may one time every 2 years you could even have a outdoor wedding and use scenery as your decor. I know you don't have to much green grass or trees there but you guys do have beautiful surroundings.

Thanks Christina D. and Jess! Beautiful ideas! The problem is that I have **little to no** imagination so this is awesome. We are getting married at a golf club. The ceremony will be outside on a lovely, special green and the reception will be inside the club house with floor to ceiling windows overlooking a meandering waterfall and the golf course. They will have just finished re-seeding or over-seeding and I have been promised that everything will be rich and green and lush on 10.15. Thanks for your inspiration!

My colors are Plum and Platinum, and my wedding is vegas in november so about the same kind of weather. no leaves basically Smiley smile I love the color purple so i'm def biased, but mine is closer to winter so i'm doing all white with subtle purple popping everywhere!

The first is more where i'm going, cold and winter, and the second picture of just the bouquet is more what the other ladies have said, the green and purple Smiley smile

Mrs. Brown I am so glad you are doing Pewter!!! i've been promoting that color for years and only recently brides are actually going for it. amazing! Lisa, I'm from San Diego so I get what you mean about no seasonal colors. Go with what you like. I'm doing navy, turquoise & orange and I am so flipping excited about it.

We did plum and burnt orange for our October wedding. It was so perfect. Could go well for yours too, especially if you have any of those lovely red rocks in your backdrop.

Thanks, Analy! That is a GREAT combo and something I never thought of but I LOVE it! So bright and happy! Did you have daisies in your wedding or am I seeing things?

That's just an inspiration board, not MY wedding, but we did use most of those flowers, including the orange daisies. I thought it was still bright and fun, while being sophisticated and unexpected, and a little bit fall. Smiley smile

Totally! You hit the nail on the head with your description. The gerbera daisy is my favorite flower too, so about the only thing I know is that I'll have plenty of those! Looks like I'll be planning my wedding around a FLOWER! Who knew? : )

I'm in the same boat - i.e. Phoenix in October - and we're going with "sunset" colors with a bright orange and dark royal purple as the main colors, sprinkled with cranberry, yellow/gold, and a little lavender, light blue and pink accent. I know it sounds like a train wreck but once its all together it DOES look like a sunset.

Go with what you want! Yes it will be warm but just because the temperature is warm doesn't mean your colors can't be HOT! :-)
