Hey Everyone! I am getting married 10/17/2020 in North Carolina and as of right now we are riding it out. I am just so nervous and anxious because I don’t want to reschedule or cancel at all but his family are having to come from out of town and the health of everyone is important . It has definitely been a struggle with this virus adding more stress. I am just interested to hear other opinions on this whole thing and possibly what you guys are doing especially if your wedding is around the same time as mine.

Tia, we are right there with ya! We’re also anxious and are planning on getting married civilly on our initial wedding date (11/20/20) with immediate family - parents and siblings. We’ll then marry in the church and renew our civil vows a year later on 11/20/21 at our original dream venue with the full 130 guest list. I spoke to my Dr, other health professionals fighting the virus, and an airline pilot in the family. With a destination wedding in Miami, 130 people flying from different states and Nicaragua, November being flu season, earliest possible vaccine to be in 2021, chance of a spike, at high risk guests, and wanting to have the care free wedding we dreamt of, we decided on this plan. Every bride and groom have different circumstances they need to consider. What works for us, may not work for others and vice versa. At the end of the day, we will all choose what’s best for us and our situations. Sending lots of love and positivity to you all!! ❤️

Also a 10/17/2020 bride! I have been thinking the same thing...my friends eloped this past week because they planned to get married in September, but decided to go ahead and get married and have a celebration next May. Our wedding is in the middle of no where in TN and our coordinator/ owner of our venue is having a wedding the weekend after ours for her son. She is a nurse and is very optimistic that the virus will subside. Considering that TN summers don’t end for what feels like Nov/Dec. We are still planning and our families are very hopeful, but I am going ahead with a plan B if we need. We had planned to go to St. Lucia right after so if anything I am hoping that is all we will need to reschedule. Stay positive!

10/9 in NJ! We are riding it out as well, but definitely nervous! My fiancé is 100% thinking we’ll be fine. We met with our venue yesterday and they reassured us that we “should” be ok, hopefully, and even if there is still somewhat of a social distancing order still in place, they gave us a room setup option that would comply, basically adding twice as many tables and keeping immediate family together. It’s not ideal, but at least it’s an option.
Not making a decision until we absolutely have to!

    Hello Tia!
I know it can be hard, when you have had a specific outcome for your Big Day in your mind, but the most important thing is. . . You are getting married!!! Focus on the best parts about it!

I would really rather elope to save money and time, and hurt feelings (I have a huge family). My boyfriend and I haven’t officially gotten engaged, but have begun planning a Thanksgiving Wedding for 2020 (Nov. 26) Smiley smile It’s going to be weird, but at the end of the day as long as we have each other and someone important to us to sign as witness, we’re going to be doing well. Smiley smile I’m so thankful for technology too, so that if we need to, we can record it. I have had friends get married in the last month who did a “drive-in” wedding. It was a fantastic alternative!Breathe and grieve if/when you need to. Remember, the wedding day is no indication of what your life together will be like. The preparation you have put in to your relationship will carry you into marriage. ❤️ Blessings dear.

Hi! I am also getting married on 10/17/2020 in CT. As of right now my fiance and I are staying positive and continuing our planning. I also have lots of family traveling, but am hopeful because most live in states that have been pretty serious about Covid and have started to flatten their curves. Come August, invitation time, if things are still not looking good then we will figure it all out. Our venue has been great so far so we will see what happens.

I know this virus has added a ton of stress. What is your governor saying currently about reopening soon? I live in VA so not too far and we are opening next week.

We are book for 11/7/2020 with 150 guests. Thankfully the vendor has been cooperative and flexible. We are going to wait it out.

Hey! I'm interested to hear what everyone is planning on doing now? My date is 10/10 in NC. At this point, we can have the ceremony, but not a reception of more that 25 people if it's outside and 10 people if it's inside... I hate to have a ceremony without a reception. Anyone else have thoughts, especially in NC?

I’m not from NC but I am from NY which has been under lockdown since March basically. Gov Cuomo also has guidelines such as 50 people only at our venue and no dancing! So we are getting married on our 10.31.20 date with 50 people and have a dinner at the hotel we are staying at afterward. Next year we will re-new our vows and have our big reception then!! There’s really no rules for us 2020 brides at this point. We are all setting the bar, god for bid another pandemic ever hit. At this point who knows if 2021 is even safe? Everything they have ever said about COVID has changed daily. We all just have to make the best out of the worst situation.
