Hi! I bought a dress last July and it came in December and I’ve been doubting my decision honestly ever since I ordered it. I wish I went with my gut and ordered a new dress right away, but I’m also so happy with my new dress now and it’s one I never would have thought to try, so I guess I’m glad the situation led me to this dress!
I bought the dress off the rack at Castle Couture Off the Runway yesterday. The only thing I’m nervous about now is if it’s too big to be altered? My initial dress was ordered in a size 10 and this one is a size 14 (different designer but still definitely large). My seamstress is amazing and very experienced and I read a review of someone who went to her and she was able to take the dress in multiple sizes, but for some reason I’m just nervous that it won’t work out for me. The ladies at the Castle Couture said it would be no problem and my seamstress happens to be the one they recommend as well. I plan on calling her when she opens and seeing if I can bring it in as soon as possible, but have you ever heard of this kind of alteration being an issue? Aside from it being very expensive- I’m expecting that haha. The skirt of the dress is satin and the top has lace.
Any other tips for off the rack dresses in terms of dry cleaning, etc? The dress is in amazing condition aside from two tiny stains that should either come out with spot cleaning or can be covered up with adding an extra lace flower.
Thank you!!
