Officially 500 Days Out!

AJ, on June 17, 2021 at 1:00 PM Posted in Planning 0 33

I know its a long time, but 500 days until our wedding! We have our venue, florist and photographer booked, centerpieces are made, I have save the dates already but won't be sending those for awhile now. I still need hair/makeup, dress, shoes, accessories. Groom still needs all his attire but there is still plenty of time. How many days out is everyone else? What do you already have booked, and what do you still have left to do?

226 days here! Honestly never thought the 1 year mark would get here and now time is flying by! We're meeting our caterer next weekend to taste our food picks, then we have to book them. Still need to find someone to alter my dresses, cake tasting and book baker, send emails to add groomsmen to suit rental, and that's about it!

Happy 500 days out! I hope they fly by for you, and that you have a wonderful (and smooth) time gathering up the remaining things for your wedding!

Thanks Shy! I hope things go smoothly for you as well!! I know there are more things I’m forgetting but I want the big things booked since lots of people are rebooking from COVID postponement.

You're welcome, and thank you! Yeah I agree with you on that! We've found that some vendors are even raising prices to compensate for lack of business during the pandemic! Doesn't hurt to book early!

I saw that. my photographer posted that he would be raising prices and to book as soon as possible cause he's filling up but I've had him booked since March. I'm glad my food and dessert is in house so I don't have to worry about getting a caterer or baker. We aren't doing a DJ in favor of a playlist so really only need hair and makeup!

It seems like a long time, but those 500 days will go by quick! Enjoy every minute!

My fiance and I went from 42 days before our wedding in 2020, then postponed due to the pandemic and reset the counter to around 750 days, and now we're down to 407 days until our wedding!

I feel you on that. Our caterer was $9/person, but now it's $10/person. Not the craziest rise, but it still makes a difference lol!

Thanks! Though, it honestly was the best thing for us to postpone (both from a COVID perspective and non-COVID reasons), I'm actually really glad we did! I think I'm more excited for our new date than I ever was for our original date, lol.

Sounds like you've got a lot of things done already, which is awesome! What task are you working on next?

I think dress shopping is next on my list though I'm nervous about that. I'm the heaviest I've ever been in my life and have been trying to be healthier and slim down a bit to no avail thanks to covid and stress so stress eating and boredom eating :/ - I want to be excited for it but don't know. Do you have everything planned from your original date/are you keeping your plans the same or has your vision changed?

We've got 457 left! Venue was the first thing we booked followed by our caterer. They were the two vendors I knew for sure I wouldn't go without. Then we booked our DJ, desserts, dance lessons and Photographer, and I just put down a deposit last week for my dress.

We've still got to book our florist, but the one I want to work with doesn't book until a year out, and then we'll have to find an officiant and outfit for FH.

Also really need to start on our centerpieces...Smiley cry

Sounds like you have a lot done but know what you have to do!! I have an officiant in mind but we have to ask him still, its my FH's friend so that's up to him lol. So when it hits exactly one year are you going to call up the florist?

Oh yea, I'm ready to start bugging her now, and I'll probably reach out a little earlier than that. But I have to figure out how much florals/what kind I even want before I reach out.

I'm honestly considering going with some faux succulents for our centerpieces and just having a bouquet done for me. We don't have a wedding party so it would be nice to cut down on some of those expenses!

For sure! I'm doing floral centerpieces, bouquet, boutonnieres, corsages and arrangement on the head table, flowers for the wedding arch - its not as expensive as I thought but since I'm changing what she was gonna do for centerpieces I'm sure it'll go up

128 days away! I have pretty much everything done. Just need to pay off vendors and make the wedding party flowers.
500 sounds like forever but it's going to fly by! I can't believe it's already going on two years of engagement for me.

That’s so exciting for you!! We’re 631 days out! We’re looking at venues starting this weekend! We have our ceremony musicians picked out, we just need a venue first. And we’re doing fake flowers, so we essentially have those as well.

687 days out 🙃 We booked our venue, I have my dress and all the makings for our centerpieces. I have the ideas picked out for the wedding cake and just got the topper via Etsy. I found the guest favors I want, but will wait to order them (flower seed packets, personalized, also on Etsy) I also have a nice list of hotels to contact for block rooms. Oh, and FH has the honeymoon booked. DJ won't price or accept appointments until 6 months out - ugh.

Yeah we know we're extremely lucky to have found her! At the open house at our venue there were caterers that charged $30/person!! Boggles my mind lol

That's not bad (depending on how many people you are having)! My venue provides food/drink (open bar) so its $100 per person, we can splurge a little cause food/drink is important to us and we have a smaller guest list
