So one of the first things my FH and I did when starting wedding planning was figure out who our officiant would be. We decided on his friend's boyfriend because he's very charismatic and would be eloquent in speaking.
Well... One thing we hadn't foreseen happening was my FH's friend and his boyfriend breaking up. They had been together 5+ years and never had shown signs of trouble, but well.... They broke up a few months ago.
Now my FH's friend said it was fine at the time that his ex was still officiating, but there's been a lot of drama (that I'm not privy to nor do I want to know really) and mutual friends who know more said we really should change officiants.
I am totally okay with getting someone new (we have another option) and I really don't want any drama at our wedding.
We had talked to his ex when they first broke up and he understood if things change... But still...
My issue is... How do we tactfully tell him he we are going with someone else? And... Being that he's really not part of the group of friends anymore, we are probably not inviting him. (We haven't sent out any save-the-dates or invites.)
Any advice??
