Oh oh ... how do I get all my guests addresses to print onto mailing labels?

MrsD2011, on March 12, 2011 at 11:46 PM Posted in Planning 1 12

Ugh so with the amount of guests we have coming and the fact after awhile my handwriting sucks and I do not feel like putting the money into a professional, I was going to use calligraphy font and clear labels to print my guest's addresses out on and wasn't sure how to set that up. I think it has something to do with mail merge and yes I already have all my guests addresses typed into my computer. So how do you do that?

Are they typed into an excel spreadsheet? that's the easiest way. Have one column for name, one for address and then in word, select the mail merge wizard and it should walk you through the process to select the excel document and the "fields" which will be your column name..

We have a large guest list ourselves. A friend of mine just printed her addresses straight onto the envelopes, however we have boxes so we couldn't do the same we had to do the clear labels. After we purchased the labels we went online and found their print layout and downloaded it. After that we were able to merge the addresses onto the label layouts and we printed them all out that way.

Purchase the size labels you want. On the package it will give you a template number to google or get off the product web site. As far as how to get each address on that label, depends on what program your using.

I did this with our save the dates and am also doing it with our invites. I got the avery labels at Walmart and I think Staples has them too. They have a template number on them and you can either download it or just do it right off their website. Im also pretty sure if you have it typed in excel you can merge it onto their template if you follow the directions! It worked great for us!

I'll get on that ... see what I can do for today, my STDs need to go out by Wednesday ... I'm already sending them out far to late anyways ... luckily almost everyone on our guest list either knows when the wedding is or they live where we are getting married.

SoontobeMrs. D. My Wedding is in August and I'm trying to get my save the dates out within the next few days too. I'm so late, but thankfully almost everyone already knows too. I'm trying to figure this downloading font thing and print directly on the envelopes too. Good luck to both of us..lol...

You use the excel document, but do it through word. Open a word document. then click or find the mail merge tab. there should be a step by step mail merge wizard that can guide you through the process. Basically you will end up bringing all the info from your excel document into the word document. then you can customize the labels with font and such.

If you still have trouble look up mail merge for labels in the help section.

I entered these directly into wedding wire and do not have them anywhere else... does this mean that i have to retype them into another program or can i not just export them. I tried fallowing wedding wires directions on doing this however it takes it directly to notepad with only the names of the persons on my list does not even export the addresses. Smiley sad

I think it's Avery 5160 address labels. You can down load the template.
