Hello all! Just wanted to see if anyone else was going old school and doing the whole "something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue"? For me, I am doing it - I think its fun! Here are mine:

Old: the two necklaces I am wearing. One was made out of my maternal grandmother's engagement ring (I'm also wearing her wedding ring on my right hand) and the other was made out of a tie clip from my paternal grandfather.

New: My dress and my shoes!!

Borrowed: My mother is lending me a pearl and onyx bracelet that will blend seamlessly with my other accessories.

Blue: I have a small pair of studs that I just purchased that I'll wear in my 3rd hole (the top one, and where I put small studs usually) that are blue aquamarines - which happens to be my fiancé's birthstone!

That's kind of cute. I was wondering how many guys got into that tradition.

Hi! I’m choosing to not do those, but instead I’m doing the Lithuanian wedding traditions. We’re doing the celebration and wedding cake, the traditional dances, unity ceremony, welcoming by the parents with rye, salt, Krupnikas, lantern, and Juosta, and the Juosta arch.

Such great ideas here!! I love the idea of including the partner's family, although in my particular situation I don't think they'd find it as heartwarming... sigh!

I know I want to *try* and use my mom's veil for something old/borrowed (does combining count? LOL), but she has yet to pull it out of storage so I need to get my eyes and hands on it first. No clue on the something new/blue yet but we have over a year. Smiley smile

I love that! Both my fiancé and I are adopted and feel like we lost out on being exposed to/involved in our respective cultures, and have considered learning more about them by exploring their wedding customs. Smiley love

Nice!!! I think that’s an amazing way to honor your culture.
