Old, New, Borrowed, Blue - Do or Ditch?

Something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue... trust me - you'll be asked more than once if you're doing this tradition!! Are you honoring this tradition and rounding up your four good luck charms? Are you doing or ditching this tradition? Photo by Rebecca Carpenter...

Doing! Such a fun tradition. Still need to figure out borrowed, but my ring is the old (since it is from my FH's great-grandmother), I have blue heels, and I'm planning to get new earrings and perfume for the day.

This is something I will be doing. I recently found an old piece of a necklace that was my mom's. I believe it was passed down to her from my great aunt? It has blue gems in it.. I just have to figure out how to wear it. So, that's my something old and blue. New will be my earrings. I just have to figure out the borrowed.

Also, not everyone knows there's another part to the rhyme that goes, "and a six pence in her shoe" …before my dad passed away he got really into coin collecting and for an engagement/wedding gift he gave my FH and I each a collectable coin. We'll both be wearing them in our shoes!

I'm doing it just for fun. I already have a new dress, am going to wear blue heels (my favorite color), and my mom offered to let me borrow some of her jewelry, so why not! I just need to find something old now. Nothing really about the tradition or superstition though.

If I do it, it will be because of the tradition. I think I'll have an old handkerchief but I'm not sure about the others...

I'm kind of doing it I guess, but not in purpose lol. New=wedding dress and shoes Borrowed=a sign from a friends wedding Blue=blue thistle in my bouquet
I'm just missing something old, maybe I'll find something just to round it out lol

Ditch, I really don't care about having something old, new, borrowed &blue. If my friends are willing to gather these things for me I would thankful but it is not a necessary need.

I will be doing this just for fun and for tradition. It's something I've always heard of brides doing growing up and it'll be nice to have special pieces apart of my big day from the women in my family.

I wanted to, but it just didn't work out. With my mother being recently passed, and my family being not very involved in the wedding, I found it hard and felt slightly discouraged. I [sadly] dropped that tradition.

Definitely doing this tradition! It may be silly but it's fun to stick with traditions on some aspects. I did this tradition and would always recommend to keep the tradition alive.

Yes definitely, but I’m not sure yet what all it is. Since teal is my main color, I’m thinking a teal garter for the blue. But I’ve also thought of taking one of my dad’s old work shirts and cutting out a heart to sew inside my dress. He’s a mechanic so the typical “blue-collared work shirts”.
    New is the dress.
Old, I’m really not sure about yet. Although, actually I just thought about the bracelets I have that were my paternal grandparents. I’ve been trying to think of a way to honor them. They’ve both passed. I had originally thought of getting their photos in a charm to have on my bouquet, but now I’m thinking those bracelets would work.
