I am turning 58 this year and my husband to be says my parents ( who are 80 & 84 ) should pay for the wedding OR I should pay for it. He says he paid for the ring and will pay for the honeymoon. I really want to do the right thing here and for some reason I feel that we both should pitch in for...
I am turning 58 this year and my husband to be says my parents ( who are 80 & 84 ) should pay for the wedding OR I should pay for it. He says he paid for the ring and will pay for the honeymoon. I really want to do the right thing here and for some reason I feel that we both should pitch in for the wedding. Please give me some advise here. Give me your thoughts.

    Personally, I would pay for it. My husband and I paid for our wedding (early 30s). It's not easy or fun. But it's not anyone else's purchase. We did accept help, if anyone offered. But his side are the type to "rub it in."
