OMG......... Cost to have table runners and tablecloths just pressed is OUTRAGEOUS. Update: Problem solved!!

Midwest May, on May 6, 2016 at 11:39 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 1 15

They want $15 per runner and $25 for each tablecloth. I guess I'll be ironing this weekend. Any tips on steaming or ironing satin?

Friend just shared to put it in the dryer on no heat for 10 minutes. Worked like a charm!!

I was somehow roped into ironing the runners and tablecloths for my FSIL's bridal shower and that was a pain, I can't imagine doing even more for a wedding. Goodluck!

I appreciate that tip---I haven't really thought about how I'm going to iron mine yet. There are only 12 of them, but I still hate ironing. I'll give the dryer trick a try first just in case...

    Celia, you are 1000% correct.

My grandmother ironed her bed sheets (and everything in her life) one of my friends irons her tshirts.

When my FMIL stayed with us over thanksgiving she was horrified to learn... I don't own an iron.... because the dry cleaner presses stuff that needs it and everything else :shrugs:

@Erin My grandmother ironed her sheets too!

I've been known to use a hair straightener on a collar when it needed it. Just so I don't look like a complete slob.

The rental company we used did not have light pink napkins so I ordered them online and ironed and folded 75 napkins a few days before our wedding. I drank all the wine and blasted Spotify on my Rock Blocker. There is no way after doing that I'd be able to get through ironing anything else in bulk ever again.

I hate ironing. Make sure you hang them and not fold them after you dry/iron them!
