OMG this is the longest wedding ceremony EVER

FutureMrsHodges, on August 14, 2011 at 2:01 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 17

I can't believe I just watched this entire wedding ceremony. Don't get me wrong it was very very beautful ,but OMG 2 hours !The processional song reminded me of the " Burger King " flame boliled commerical.LOL I didn't even know Youtube would let anyone load a video that long. I wouldn't dare make my guest sit thought a ceremony that long.

And this is why my ceremony is going to last 10 minutes at the max.

The music lulled me to sleep and when I woke up the ceremony was still going on! LOL Beautiful but just not my cup of tea.

The Bride didn't begin walking down the aisle until an hour after the ceremony started! WOAH!!!! Beautiful music but the beginning seemed more like I was attending a Kennedy Center concert rather than a wedding ceremony. That's pretty elaborate! I'm curious to see what the reception was like!

I agree with Jen about the Royal Wedding. I recorded it, then fast-forwarded the boring bits.

I'd be antsy for even a one hour ceremony.

The thing is that there is SO much that doesn't apply to the couple, and I'm sorry, that's what a wedding is about. It's not performance; it's a wedding. Slim but important difference that a lot of officiants don't quite get, but this is obviously the norm for that community.

    Too much.

What's really sad is that my sister's wedding ceremony was about 2 hours long. We sat through a full catholic mass and then her actual wedding ceremony was about 50 minutes long.

Being the MOH in that wedding was definitely a workout since I stood in high heels in a floor length gown for about 75% of the whole thing.

..and that's why our ceremony took exactly 30 mins from the time the first person walked down the aisle and last person in the immediate family walked up.

Mine will be no longer than 15 minutes. I would love to just get the BP all in and start the ceremony, none of the walking down the isle just get in, say I do, n Party , party, party.
