pir8folife, on February 5, 2014 at 12:46 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 23

So originally I knew the best way to go was to go to thrift stores etc, tj maxx etc to try to find cobalt blue vases for my centerpieces. .so far I have only found 5 and I need 10..running out of time..only 3 months to go! Has anyone found any anywhere? Looking for the antique deep blue ones!

Yeah but they want soooo much for shipping on eBay! Looking for an onsite store or online where they have in bulk!

Don't be shy to ask e bay sellers for a cut on the shipping especially if you buy a few.

or you could alternate with clear vases and fill them with blue stones.

Did you try any of those "recycle my wedding" sites? Brides list TONS of new or gently used vases.

I bought clear bowls from ACMoore and painted the insides a nice shiny green to use for my centerpieces. No filling with stones, marbles or ugly moss. The paint needed to be thinned so it would spread. I don't have a pic, but it looks pretty nice.

eta: roll the paint around the inside for a smooth finish.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Now that I'm on a PC I can add pics-- my inspiration for the wedding came from these photos-- I'll be working with a color palatte of metallic gold, cobalt blue, white, with some accents of purple. We have rented the cobalt blue water glasses, and we are using a mixture of white hydrangeas, delphenium(sp) and iris for the centerpieces, with white table cloths, gold chargers and blue napkins. I think using the pops of blue will really help the table pop, I never thought it would be this hard to find the vases. Take a look and let me know if you think you can find anything to help!

Or you could make your own out of pretty vases you find at goodwill type stores.

Those are really pretty. If you can't locate any additional, can you alternate tables with clear vases? What about using cobalt blue marbles in the clear vase, or spray painting them the cobalt blue color?

I know you posted this ages ago... and I'm not sure of the size you need... But I came across these today and totally remembered your post! These are smaller vases, but they're only $3.99 each!
