It so funny, because every great wedding story requires so much backstory and frame of reference, I love it. Feel like I lived each one haha. Thanks for helping me kill some time at work reading these

Wow. That's a lot of excitement!

Went to an ex's family wedding. Traveled from ND to Texas. Got all done up and arrived...only to wait an hour in a city park for the bridal party to show up. Wedding ceremony was to take place next to a body of water (we can call it a pond) that was inhabited by the grumpiest geese I have ever met. So we spent an hour waiting and defending our territory, then when the shindig got rolling with no chairs, no mic system, hot temps and no breeze, we had to have take shifts to watch our little friends try sneak attacks. Following the ceremony NO ONE heard or saw, I am totally expecting something to eat right? Something to drink? Nope. Follow us to this park shelter a half mile away in your heels! Got over there and they decided that a wedding reception would be the perfect place to learn how to deep fry a turkey...A turkey for like 100 people. Not kidding...wedding was over by 4-430 and we waited until 9pm to leave and hit up a Subway. We got back to the park just in time to watch the family members pull the bird out of the fryer and flop it on a picnic table. You may say oh they washed the table or had a pan...naw not these people! Mind you it was now 10pm and dark. First dance finally happened at 11pm. Good thing about it...I got to spend a week on vacation in Texas where I was spit on by a whale at Sea World, got the rental car stuck in the sand on the beach in Corpus Christi during spring break, and got on the plane to come home only to find out we had been evacuated due to extreme flooding. Interesting week to say the least.

View Quoted Comment I was a childhood friend of the bride. Her family and mine, we grew up on the same block, in small town USA. The reaction was mutual by everyone, good deed cause the marriage seemed doomed. Bride and groom went their separate ways. I believe there were some harsh words and I know the local police (my brother) was present when they separated their items a few days later. Groom moved out of state soon after. I know few years later the bride married, had 3 children and they are still together.
