On to Plan B?

PermaGrin, on December 31, 2021 at 12:35 AM Posted in Planning 0 4

Hi all,

Due to unpredictability with venues needing proof of vaccination and me not wanting an inside ceremony or service any longer - I think we found a plan B.

We will be hosting in a family members backyard for a small group - I am thinking 40 or so and we will make sure everyone tests before the wedding.

I am not good with DIY - so I am working on getting quotes with caterers who offer bar services and table/ chair/ linen rental etc.

Hoping this is a more successful approach! This will allow us to be outside for the entire time. I am sad to be giving up what I was planning - but happy there are potential alternatives.

I am sure I will be needing lots of help along the way with this last minute change. I am very lucky that I have two companies that can offer quotes in the next week and still move forward with the date we choose!

My sister had a backyard wedding in December and it was absolutely beautiful. There were about 50 in attendance. She rented a dance floor and a dj for the reception. The only hiccup was that she had the tables and chairs set up the day before and it rained overnight. They just had to wipe down everything and the ground was a little wet. Overall it was a great time.

Thank you! I am starting to get hopeful we can pull this together - it seems so daunting at this point but that is why I am trying to get caterers/ events companies to do all the set up in one place. I will feel better if we get a plan in palce!

Great to know it worked for her! The tent people seemed intense that they will need ample set-up and break down time .. I feel almost bad taking over FFIL house!
