Once again, Flagging non-vios is flagging abuse...

MNA, on October 18, 2016 at 4:11 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 96

...and is against the Community Guidelines.

You cannot flag a post because:

-You disagree with it

-You don't like it

-You become butthurt by it

-You are offended by it

-You think it is "harsh," "mean," or "rude"

-There is no name calling, personal attacks (and no, telling someone their idea sucks does not qualify), stalking, etc

Posts to flag:

-Advertising

-Posts that include name calling (again, as the Mods have stated many times, calling an IDEA stupid is okay, calling a PERSON stupid is NOT!)

-posts that are personal attacks

-posts that tell someone not to post/how to post

-posts that tell people to leave

-"Bye Felicia" posts, UNLESS they are directed to someone who has announced they are leaving

-posts that announce the person is leaving

Flagging non-vio posts is a strikeable offense, so keep that in mind.

Regulars: Feel free to email mods at community@weddingwire.com about the unreasonable flags, as they CAN see who has done the flagging and take action, esp. on serials.

@Beach: A whackadoo who declared us all fatties who were mean to the poor masses who deserve to mistreat their guests, regardless of their budget. Oh, and she was having "a black tie affair" in the same breath.

In other words, horrifying and gratuitous amounts of entitlement.

I'm sad I missed that post but I am glad you posted this!

It's a public forum which will give you plenty of different and ranging opinions. Just because you don't like something, doesn't mean we all have to change to make it go away.

@Andrea HAHAHAHA thanks for the giggle. Mods would never take the time to post something like this. Are they even here anymore?

    @Alyson:

Keep in mind that flagrant flagging can get you banned.

@Alyson, she's not telling you what to do (which isn't even against guidelines) she's telling you that flagging indiscriminately is against TOC (which is what you just did...)

    I guess I'm confused. What's a non-VIP? Or was that just a typo?

What drives me absolutely fucking nuts is the people who post a thread asking a questions about their "amazing idea" and then when people are like uh no that's dumb they get so pissed like I'm sorry we're you looking for everyone to agree? There are a few WW faux pas that I'm doing at my wedding (don't worry nothing regarding not properly hosting my guests) but I don't run around posting "questions" about it and then get mad when no one agrees. I will say this once more, I have the amazing regulars of WW to thank for what will be my kick ass wedding. My guests mind will be blown. Because of these guys. Listen to what they are telling you because they know their shit.

ETA: sorry for my rant. Kind of off topic but I'm so sick of people getting butt hurt and flagging helpful posts because they disagree.

Hold on @MNA! You are telling me what to do on a PUBLIC FORUM to which I obviously can regulate to get an end to a means.

    FLAG.

I'm sad I missed whatever happened.

Alyson, I literally just deleted my eye rolling meme from my phone. Please don't make me download it again.
