I wasn’t aware that some traditional weddings have a two cakes. One for everyone to eat and one for the spouse. Is it required to have an additional cake? Are you having two cakes? What’s your second cake idea choice? My mom attended a wedding today and their cake was a guitar because that’s his instrument he plays. I’m curious if we should have an additional cake or not. Our venue is providing our main cake.cfb_1530717.jpg

I did this at my first wedding. I personally don't like themed cakes like the one you posted. It just seems a bit cheesy. At my first wedding we did a regular wedding cake that was white with flowers and then a groom cake that was a square tiered chocolate cake.

When I first heard about it - I thought it would be better for a birthday theme cake instead of a wedding cake. You know? What was the flavor of the regular wedding cake?

Yes!!! Their beer garden is amazing!!! We asked our baker to sculpt the original brick beer hall though because we figured that would be less complicated and cheaper hahaha! 😂

Oh okay. You’re getting down to the wire. Do you have a lot of last minute things you need to do before the big day?

Yea ther than breathe everytime I write a check??? No 😂. But seriously I have to confirm timelines, vendors, pick up my 1st dress and do a write up for the minister regarding our ceremony vision as well as practicing some traditional dances. The thing I’m most worried about is music and ensuring that the right music is played during the reception. I went to a wedding this weekend and realized that music is everything. During this wedding they had a complex mix of genres that didn’t make sense to me.

LOL ! I can imagine 😆 have you all met with the DJ? One thing I like about the venue is we get to meet the DJ and tell him our vision. They also gave us this paper to write down the different songs we want at which times which I also thought was helpful.

Yes I’ve met my DJ! His my Sorors brother. This works great because she’s going to be in seeing the reception and he’s really good but I just feel very concerned about making sure that nobody feels bored at the wedding that I like the one I went to this weekend because the music selection was so bland Tell us about yours??

Oh even better!!!! I am interested to see your videos/photos. I’ve always wanted to experience a Greek wedding. My sister is a Zeta and I cannot wait until she get married lol - The DJ is really experienced and gave us a lot of feedback. He’s also very ‘cultured’ and professional. We told him the type of music we’d like for him to play based on our crowd. Because we also want to be respectful to our parents and her grandparents - we’ll also have some children at the wedding and don’t want to play anything distasteful.

Greek Divine 9 weddings are everything!!! I think I’m even more excited to stroll with my sisters. But of course the hard part is most of the songs we stroll too are heavy on expletives. So trying to find the clean version so that the elders in the family won’t clutch their pearls is hard. So funny my mom said absolutely no twerking at the wedding. I’m like ummm well that’s what we do! 😂😂😂

😂😂😂 that is going to be interesting. We’d asked the DJ about Dreams and Nightmares and he said that would be a last hour song bc there is no clean version of it and if there was it wouldn’t sound right. So I understand lol

A lot of times this just means having a tier cake with the bride/groom keeping the smallest top tier. A lot of the time you can ask the venue/catering to box it for you. But also you don’t need to get more cakes if you don’t want to, it doesn’t really matter.
