One of a kind?

Are you having any one of a kind elements at your wedding? Are you doing/having something you never seen at another wedding before?

I'm not sure if other people have done this, but I'm doing a dedication table to our late grandparents. I'm going to have a bunch of their pictures at the table that I love, one picture of them at their wedding. And I'm also adding a little thing of their that they love. Like even though Im having a rustic wedding in August I'm going to have a Christmas tree at the dedication table because my grandma loved Christmas and maybe a polish flag and a John Wayne picture because my grandfather was 100% polish and loved John Wayne.

Not sure if this counts, but we've never seen this at a wedding before. In addition to favors for our guests, we're doing a doggie bag table. Many of them have pets, and we wanted to include our dog as part of the 'thank you' to our guests. The bags will have dog treats in them and a little thank you note from our pup!

I have seen a lot of memorial tables, but I have never seen one that incorporated personal items for each person being honored- that is such a great idea! Makes it feel much more personal and special than just a static photo.

I loooooooove this!!! I have never seen this done either. And, as a puppy mom and uber dog lover, I would definitely enjoy this!

We did it ourselves. The toppings are on the side along with additional flavoring syrups

Thanks!!! We were originally going to do 'first look' photos with him each, but it was going to be such a hassle trying to find someone to take him to and from the venue (2 hours away from our home). We decided to have a second engagement shoot with him, a picture of him will be on one side of our koozie favors, and then we have the doggie bag table! (can you tell that our dog is our life?! haha)

Apparently we are really behind here in the Midwest, because I have never seen one before LOL I would love to have this at our wedding! But, besides not having the room, everyone else I know around here seems to hate Boba. My brain cannot even comprehend this! 😱

I will admit I haven't been to many wedding so I can't say for sure if what we are doing is one of a kind but for our ceremony we are incorporating a hand binding ceremony. Our theme is Disney and we are big Disney nerds so my FH made our own "Disney Congratulation pins" that are wedding themed with our guests names on them for and are using them as the Favor/Name Card on the tables.

Everyone has such fun and unique ideas! We're not doing anything drastically new or unheard of, but I've never been to a wedding that had some of the elements that we're doing. Polaroid guest book, trivia game (everyone fills out the trivia cards at their own leisure from cocktail hour until after dinner, and winner at each table gets a prize), smores bar (our venue has a fireplace), and day-after party bus to wineries. Otherwise, pretty much everything else is "standard" wedding event lol. I suppose it might also count that we're doing tiramisu for dessert instead of traditional cake. Are you incorporating anything at your wedding that you haven't seen before?

This was the first thing that I had considered when I was starting to plan. My whole family loves boba including my baby niece and nephew. But then we also booked an espresso bar and mimosa bar so we ultimately decided not to do it. I hope some day to go to a wedding with a boba bar though lol.

We’re having a mashed potato bar and loaded fries. We’re going to have a snow machine for our first dance. Hoping to have a few out of the box cupcakes/cookie flavors. We’re also incorporating Marvel into aspects of the wedding.

While we are not the only swordfight wedding in our circle, we were the only one that included *guests*. (We totally choreographed and practiced for *months* before hand. It was the best part of wedding planning. Oh, no, I have to go play with swords with my friends. Oh, how awful. Jeez, I hate seeing my friends. In the park. With swords. ... I really, REALLY miss that.)

My dad wore a top hat! (He looked awesome.)

While we've been to weddings with themes, we were the only one that themed around a *baseball team*.

We did a custom unity puzzle. I know others have done puzzles as well, but it is not something I had ever personally seen before.

For our second reception in Spain, my fiancé's dad wants to hire his friend, the local wizard from their village, to perform a traditional Celtic marriage rite for us, haha! My FH is from Galicia, a the region to the far northwest of Spain, which has a strong Celtic culture. His town specifically hosts a Celtic wedding festival every year where people can get "married" for a year by a local guy who dresses as a Celtic wizard. He's actually a professional wizard and performs at festivals around the region!

Anyway, FH's dad wants to hire him to perform a Celtic wedding rite and a queimada, which is the local firewater that they literally light on fire while chanting a poem to banish "meigas" (witches) and bad luck from your life for the year. It will certainly be a spectacle!

This is not done often, but my FH and I will be officiating the wedding ourselves. Colorado, DC and Pennsylvania allows this.
