One song for entire procession?

Natalie, on March 30, 2018 at 10:50 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 1 27
I have only been to a handful of weddings in recent years, and they all chose a different song for each group during the procession. To me, it can make things seem a little rushed, or just not a good blend since you're only getting a few seconds for each (and maybe that's the djs doing).

Our wedding party will be very small, I have my maid of honor and 1 bridesmaid, fiance will have his best man and 2 groomsmen. Is it ok to play just one song for all of us? Or should there be a change in song to indicate I'm up next?

I'm doing only one song. It's about 1:30 long and I'm going to ask our dj to loop it if needed to make sure the song keeps on playing until we're a done walking. 😊 I always thought it was weird to cut off two or more songs to introduce a new song on something that's so short, but I'd say go with whatever works for you!

We are planning to do one song for our procession, including me. We are going to do 1,000 years by Christina Perri. We are thinking only the instrumental and time it to a part special to us for me to begin ascending down the isle.

    I had a total of 4.

    Precessional
    Brides Pressional
    Communion Song
    Recessional

If you have a DJ, he/she is responsible for making it flow well. Ours went perfectly. However, I see no problem with using one song if its a song you both like. It can work both ways. ☺

We are playing 1 song for everyone! Hallelujah by Pentatonix. It's about 4 minutes long. It comes to a build up at 3 minutes and that's when I (bride) will come out.

I'm using one song, 1000 Years. My bridal party will walk to an instrumental and then my daughter will sing part of it when I walk in.

I had three. One for the party to walk to. One for me (bride) and one for the recessional. But if your patty is small then that should work perfectly.

I plan on doing 3. One for the bridal party, one for me and a silly one for the reception.

Nerd that I am I am doing only one song and it's from Dr. Who but it seems that if you did more than one song the point of each song would be lost in them having to be cut off. Just make sure there is a seperate song or at least a build in the song for your big enterance.

I have five girls, flower girl, and Rong bearer walking out to l.o.v.e by nat king Cole and spacing it out enough to were it could fade at the perfect time and then surprising my FH with the theme song of his favorite childhood (and adulthood) video game that he used to play with his sisters that means a lot to him.

We’re having our string quartet play Somebody to Love by Queen and that’s the only song we’re playing for the processional. It has the buildup for my entrance at the end so it’s perfect for us. We get so many feels whenever we listen to it.

I went to a church wedding that used one song. There was only one bridesmaid and groomsman. I think it’s okay to play one song. I’m doing 3 songs: 1 for the mothers and the groom/groomsmen, 1 for the bridesmaids and flower girl/ring bearer and 1 for me.

That's how I feel, a few seconds just doesn't sit well with me, and partially because there's so few people in the ceremony.

I was listening to songs last night after I posted this, definitely need to time just right, and as you said, have a build for my entrance.

FH is a huge Stargate fan, I call him a nerd all the time, lol, I wouldn't be surprised if he found a song from that show.

I've been thinking about using That's How Strong My Love Is by Alicia Keys, but not sure there's a good build for my entrance. Then I came across I Belong to You by Lenny Kravitz, love that song and had totally forgotten about it! Thought that may be good for recessional. I really want to incorporate Hard to Concentrate by the Chili Peppers, but I think that will be the reception.

FH’s friend will be playing a song for us. It’s the only live music at the ceremony. Ideally I would have liked a different song for the wedding party to walk to, but since that will be so short I’d rather give him more time to finish the song with a purpose! Therefore we will be using one.
