Online Dress Shopping?

Has anyone ordered their wedding/reception dresses online? What was the outcome? Were you nervous about the process? Please tell me your experiences!

I ordered two wedding dresses online both are scheduled to arrive at the end of the month. I’ll be happy to update when I receive.

What I found out was the styles / pictures posted on major bridal shops are similar/ same to the ones posted on the online shops at a fraction of the price.
I personally did not want to spend 1000s of dollars on a dress I’ll wear max 4 hours. Our wedding is a destination wedding and we’re being very economical because we’d rather spend that money in other areas of our life.
The one dress I purchased $60 including shipping 6 weeks to receive - same dress in shop was $999 (this is my back up dress)
The second dress I purchased $178 w/shipping while the bridal shop was $1500.
My alterations will not come anywhere near what the bridal shop is. I’m by no means taking away from the bridal shop experience, I did it for personal and economical reasons.

I ordered gowns online for my wedding but they were evening gowns I used as a wedding dress. So I will say that you should check return policies and try your best to go to an actual store to see what styles even look best on you before you buy anything because I bought a mermaid gown first and I thought I’d like it but I hated it. Luckily it was so cheap I didn’t care if it didn’t get returned.

I Plan On Going To A Bridal Shop To Try On Dresses. I've Just Seen So Many Amazing Evening Gowns Online That I Would Want For My Reception But I've Never Seen Any Dresses Like Them In Stores.

I also feel if it’s cheap enough where you don’t really mind buying to try anyway then it’s ok

Just make sure to check the return policies. I ordered several dresses from BHLDN and they have a great return policy so I was able to send them back if I didn’t like them.

I should add that I tried on the dresses of choice in the bridal shop first so I knew what I was getting when I placed the orders.

I purchased my dress online for $97 and some change. With alterations, it came to a total of $300. The dress I found was almost exactly the Maggie Sottero I wanted, but this was a much better deal, still quality fabric and still easy to have my seamstress alter to my size.

    Can't hurt to look!

I bought my wedding dress from Azazie and I couldn't be happier with the way it turned out. The price was reasonable and I had it custom sized for free, so no alterations (other than adding a bustle) needed!

    Hi Trisha,
I'm going to be wearing a second dress, easier for dancing and getting around the reception, I got it from jjshouse.Online Dress Shopping? 1

I ordered my dress online from Adrianna Papell, and it was great. I spoke with them for advice about the profile, color, fabric, and venue. I selected a mother-of-the-bride dress, as it was most appropriate for me (I wanted color, and I'm mother-of-the-bride age anyway). I had the dress altered slightly at a local bridal shop, and purchased a belt there as well. The whole thing--dress, alterations, belt, cost about $700. Well under budget and everyone loved it.
