Online Invitations Question

Laura, on November 8, 2022 at 9:33 PM Posted in Account Support 0 8
Can we send out the online invitations using people’s cellphone numbers or does it have to be using their email addresses? 😕

There are 800 number RSVP services that were discussed in a thread recently.

The link to that thread is:

I sort of missed the context of the question. Now I see it is in the accounts section.

You could try sending invites from an email account to the text messaging system. The only problem is knowing which cell phone provider people have.

To be completely honest, I would be confused if I received an email or text message as a wedding invitation. Or there is also a very high probability I would end up not even seeing it. I get lots of emails that a lot of the times I ignore. The other problem is what happens if your invite would go into the same folder. I think you'd be better off sending physical invitations. You can easily design your own on Canva or buy an inexpensive template from Etsy then have them printed at Office Depot or Staples.

Agree with Veronica. Emails and texts can be lost or overlooked. It’s best to send hard copy invitations.
I sent save the date magnets, invitations, and text reminders. I still had to chase some guests for RSVP’s.

Thank you! I wish the app could let us customize the save the date and invitations. 😕 I will try to find a way to create a save the date and add the link to my website from WeddinWire. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hey, WithJoy is a free website that lets you create your wedding website with separate mailing options for save the dates, invitations & everything through their platform. You can send Save the Date first, and later do the invitation as a separate mailing. We ended up using them for our wedding website instead of WW, I’m not sure how I stumbled across it but kind of preferred the layout and variety of options. I think they only permit email addresses for guest mailings, but the website is very mobile-friendly.

My friend sends out birthday party invitations through Evite.com & I always get the RSVP link as a text message- maybe that’s another option? I haven’t used it for anything but maybe you could do a test run.

Also, imho email wedding invitations are 100% fine and becoming increasingly normal. I haven’t missed one from any of my friends who’ve sent them.
    Good luck!
