Online Ordained ministers still performing marriage ceremonies in Tennessee after July 1, 2019

It doesn't sound like they will, and it's not clear they ever could legally to begin with. Another bride just started a thread on this too. What I found was that it wasn't necessarily ever legal in Tennessee, but that it wouldn't be a problem unless there was a contested divorce. This new law just clarifies it.

Hi Victoria! thanks for your info. I just heard back from my Nashville, Tennessee insider. Tennessee will apparently be using the same black list used by Virginia for years. Local Churches covering Virginia are now covering Tennessee. Ministers ordained online in Tennessee can now get local church ordination just as easy as online ordination. There is no need for a state of panic! Just google, local church ordination accepted by Virginia and Tennessee, ordination administrator. The Ordination Administrator will then put the minister in contact with a non-online church who will provide the local church ordination. That minister can then breathe a sigh of relief knowing that they can still perform all of their ceremonies in Tennessee legally.
