Curious what you all are doing for RSVPs and if you were a guest what would you prefer?
We decided to do only online RSVPs for multiple reasons. Saves money on postage and stationery, don't risk losing the small card in the mail, I don't have to worry about reading people's non legible handwriting, and there is no confusion on which guest wants chicken and which guest wants beef. The only concern I had with online RSVP were if the older guests could figure it out.
So before deciding I asked both our moms and 2 of my grandparents (who are in their mid 80s and our oldest guests) their opinions. All of them, except his mom, said just do online RSVP. So that's what I did, but of course someone has to always be offended. His mom told my mom "They're going to have to reach out to people and chase after responses. Most of our side is older and don't know what to do. I've had people calling asking how they're suppose to RSVP."
First of all, my grandparents are 20 years older than their "older" guests, so if they can figure it out, so can everyone. Secondly, if they just flip the invite over to the back they would clearly see how to RSVP. Like if I called and asked that question to someone and they told me "look on the back" I would feel so stupid.
So idk what my goal is with this post, just curious what everyone else is doing I guess, but other than her I've had no complaints from people so far. Almost a quarter of our guests have already responded and I sent invites less than a week ago. And regardless of which way we go we will have to chase down RSVPs, so I may as well save myself some money.
