OOT Guest Bags Tylenol/Advil/Aleve

beth2606, on May 18, 2011 at 7:53 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 14

My FH and I are doing welcome bags for our OOT guest and are trying to decide what would be best to go in the bags and keep them affordable since we are on a tight budget. I was thinking of putting individual packs of pain meds but cant decide which would be better. Which would be a better choice, Tylenol, Advil, Aleve, etc?

Personally, I prefer Advil. But different people have different preferences and different reactions.

Basically, you won't be able to please everyone, but they should all be touched by the thought. Sorry I couldn't give you a more "solid" answer.

I don't have a preference, but I think most people know "Tylenol" in other words, they advertise more

I personally like Advil, but we're doing Tylenol. It is the safer bet (more well tolerated for specific groups like pregnant women, it's coated so those with stomach issues, etc.)

Edit: Your guests will appreciate the gesture regardless of which you use. It's very nice of you.

2nd edit: Don't forget to include a hand written note of thanks in the package. That was the thing that everyone has recommended.

I like Aleve, but Tylenol is the safe bet - many people have other meds that they may be taking that will interact with the other prods.

No matter what you decide, your guests will appreciate your thoughtfulness and I agree with EdubbsGirl, don't forget a thank you note.

Thanks everyone! Do you generally do a gift bag for each person invited including kids or do you put one bag in each room?

Personally I prefer Aliv, but I am going with what ever BJ's has cheaper. I figure I will buy all my stuff at the warehouse store and see what kind of prices they have. Good Luck.

I would just go with whatever is cheaper, and I wouldn't have a problem if I received a generic brand, either. Your guests will appreciate the thought, regardless.

I am doing both. Each has its own atvantages. I did not do a hand written not (too many) so I had a note printed on cards. I purchased many of the meds from:

I would just do one bag per guest room and if its a family with kids then a kids bag as well. And I think whichever med you decide will be fine. Some people have allergies to some drugs and some people just have different preferences. Its the gesture that matters and it will be appreciated.

I would go with tylenol as it is the safest alternative. I myself have major issues with Ibruprofen and get pretty sick to my stomach. Plus whenever someone is on prescription medication..doctors prefer tylenol over Ibruprofen.

I don't have a prefernce either. Getting an oot bag would just make me happy!

You can order bags through orientaltrading as well, which is really affordable!

We went with Tylenol. The Dollar Tree had a box of 10 mini packs with 3 tablets in it. No, they were not expired. lolol

    - Aspirin - Two Pack 325 mg (Don't include Tylenol as that interacts negatively with any alcohol left in the system.)

I went with aspirin. Simply cause I got a little bottle of them for a buck a piece. Im giving on bag per family/room. with the exception of the family who's daughter is my flowergirl. Im giver her a special basket filled with kids goodies.

I think I spent roughtly $50 for 6 baskets filled with all kinds of goodies I found at the dollar store and hobby lobby when they had a 50% off sale. and I frankly think they look adorable.

    :-)
